In any country, the path to the acting profession is not at all easy - the masters of the film industry may not immediately consider the abilities of a theater or film actor in green youths and give their blessings. The path of the Russian actor Vitaly Kovalenko to his profession was also not easy.

It is now Vitaly who lives in St. Petersburg, plays in the theater there, and travels to Moscow to shoot films and has the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. It all started very simply, like many young men dreaming of becoming artists.

Biography

Vitaly Kovalenko was born in 1974 in the city of Pavlodar, in the north of Kazakhstan. There was no one in his family who was even actively interested in the theater. And when Vitaly began to study in the drama club at school, his parents thought that this youthful hobby would pass, and the son would choose a “male” profession.

However, Vitaly's interest in the theater was growing every year, and by the age of sixteen he knew for sure that he would enter the theater. Already at that time, two obstacles stood on the way to the dream: the opinion of the parents and the opinion of the theater teacher, oddly enough. Adults believed that the profession of an actor is not quite suitable for a man: it does not carry either stability or any certainty.

Vitaly himself doubted, and yet after graduating from school he went to enter the theater institute in St. Petersburg. This attempt was not crowned with success, it did not work out to enter Moscow, and then Vitaly went to the northern capital of the Urals - Yekaterinburg.

This was already the fifth obstacle to the profession of an actor, and Vitaly did not show it. However, he did not leave the city, but found a job and started just going to performances, learning skills on his own. The future actor changed several professions until the deadline for the next entrance exams approached. He finally passed them successfully.

And already in the third year I realized that it was not in vain that he overcame obstacles and it was not in vain that he passed all the tests: he began to play in the performances of the Yekaterinburg Drama Theater and the Masks Theater. After receiving his education, Kovalenko served in the theater of Novosibirsk, and then a representative of the Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg invited him to move to St. Petersburg.

It was another difficult choice, but Vitaly decided on it and did not regret it.

Film career

Since 2001, Vitaly tried his hand at the set - it was the series "NLS Agency". And the first major role came to him with the project "Adjutants of Love" and the role of Napoleon Bonaparte. It was a difficult experience, but very necessary and professionally rewarding. Interestingly, he played the role of Bonaparte three times in different films.

Subsequently, Kovalenko played many different roles in feature films and even more in serials. The most significant were the roles in the film "Matilda" (1917 - the role of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich), as well as the project "Gogol. Beginning "(2019 - the role of investigator Kovleisky).

The best films in his portfolio are considered “Angel's Chapel” (2008), “Heavenly Court” (2011), “Panfilov's 28” (2016), “Battalion” (2014) and “The Man at the Window” (2019).

Personal life

Vitaly Kovalenko is married, he is happily married, as he says in a few interviews. But neither he nor his wife have an interest in bohemian life, so they do not want their personal information public. It is only known that Vitaly's wife has nothing to do with the world of cinema. They spend their free time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
