Yuri Dmitrievich was born on June 24, 1963. His hometown is Leningrad. His father is an entomologist, his mother worked as a biologist. The boy became interested in music early, from the age of 7 he attended music school (cello class).

Then Yura became interested in rock, mastered the guitar. In the 80s, Kasparyan was a member of several musical groups, where he played with friends.

Creative biography

In 1983 Kolosov Maxim, a friend of Yuri, was invited to the "Kino" group. Kasparyan went to rehearsals with him, then he was accepted into the collective. Later, Yuri became a friend of Tsoi. Kasparyan stayed at Kino until 1990, participated in the creation of eight albums. The musicians finalized the "Black Album" and released it after the death of Tsoi.

In 1985, Yuri also played in "Pop Mechanics", the team was created by Sergey Kuryokhin. In 1987, when Tsoi was filming in the movie "Igla", the musicians of "Kino" recorded the album "Start". It does not contain studio recordings, it is rehearsal material. In 2015, it was restored and released for sale.

In the 90s, Kasparyan left the stage, devoted time to the study of philosophy, esotericism, communicated with art groups. He also participated in concept projects. In 1996, Yuri released his album "Dragon Keys". In the same period, he met the famous Vyacheslav Butusov, recorded an album with him.

Later, the disc "Star Padl" was released, another musician of "Kino" - Igor Tikhomirov, took part in the work on its creation. Rumors about the revival of the group appeared in the press. In 2001, Butusov and Kasparyan organized the U-Piter collective, the repertoire included songs from Nautilus and Kino. The famous album of the group "Name of Rivers" was released in 2003. "U-Piter" existed until 2017.

In 2010, Yuri took part in the creation of the "Symphonic Cinema" project, where the songs of Viktor Tsoi were performed, accompanied by an orchestra. Symphonic versions were created by Vdovin Igor. The project was quite successful.

For the 55th anniversary of Tsoi Kasparyan and "Kukryniksy" recorded a cover of the song "We are with you". In 2017, Yuri founded the CHIC Project group, which began to play funk disco. In 2018, Kasparyan also performs in the Symphonic Cinema project.

Personal life

The first wife of Yuri Dmitrievich is Stingray Joanna, an American singer and actress. They met in 1987. Joanna became interested in Russian rock, participated in the activities of "Kino", becoming the producer of the band in the West. The marriage lasted 4 years.

In 1990, Kasparyan was baptized; his friend, Sergei de Rocambol, a conceptual artist, became his godmother. In 2004, Natalia Nazarova, an artist, became Yuri's wife. Kasparyan does not use social networks, existing accounts under his name have nothing to do with him.
