Every boy dreams of becoming a racer and winning the most prestigious racing competitions in the world. But only a few out of millions of applicants can become a racer. Only a select few manage to leave their mark on history. One of these was the British race car driver Roger Clark.
Roger Albert Clark was born on 5 August 1939 in the UK. The British racing driver competed in international rallies in the sixties and seventies of the last century. He was the first Briton to win a World Rally Championship stage.
Biography
Roger Clarke made his club debut in 1956 and went on to win. Won his first United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Rally Championship title in 1965 in a Ford Cortina GT (a car built by Ford of Great Britain in various guises from 162 to 182 and was the best-selling car in the United Kingdom of the Seventies Roger Albert Clarke repeated this achievement in 1972, 1970 and 1971 with co-driver Jim Porter in a Ford Escort RS (it was a small family car that was produced by Ford from 1916 years to two thousand and four).

Personal life
Roger Clark's family is not far from motorsport. His brother Stan Clark was also a racer. Both of his sons followed their father into motorsport. Ollie Clarke is now a race car driver and Matt Clarke is an engine designer. Ollie Clarke was a competitor in the "Time Attack British Series" (winning the championship in 2008), also took part in the "Network Q UK Rally" (Wales Rally Great Britain is the largest and highest profile rally in the United Kingdom of Great Britain) and in the FIA Cup for Drivers of Production Cars ". From the history
In 2004, the historic event of the rally was established. The event was named "Roger Albert Clark Rally" (also RAC Rally) in his honor. To recreate the route of the "classic" RAC Rally, as the current race is now limited to South Wales. In this Rally, competitors are limited to vehicles manufactured only up to year one thousand eighty-two and follow the route through stages in Scotland and northern England that are no longer part of the modern route.
A statue has been erected to commemorate the numerous and well-deserved victories of the British race car driver Roger Albert Clark.
