Sam Claflin's full name is Samuel George Claflin. He was born into a simple British family in 1986. His hometown is Ipswich. The future actor's mother worked at school, and his father was engaged in economics. Samuel became the third son in the family. The fourth son, Joseph, also chose the profession of an actor, he starred in popular British television series. A large family had financial problems more than once, so in his free time Claflin worked as a promoter and salesman.
Sam Claflin hasn't always dreamed of becoming an actor. Since childhood, he wanted to be a football player and was actively involved in this sport. The dream did not come true due to an unpleasant incident: at one of the training sessions, Claflin received a serious leg injury, which made it possible to forget about his professional sports career.
