Contemporary Russian politics hopes to reach a new level - the Government of the Russian Federation has prepared a unique project to create new and develop existing single-industry towns.
A monotown is a city whose infrastructure and economic significance are concentrated around one large enterprise. Such an enterprise, in turn, is called a city-forming enterprise. Most of the adult population of the city - at least 30% of residents of a suitable age - work in the city-forming industry. Such an enterprise can be either one factory or a whole production complex, which includes several dozen enterprises.
Why is the creation of new monotowns attractive for our country? The fact that it is they who make a significant contribution to Russia's GDP, and the economic crisis in most cases bypasses them. Monotowns are essentially in a special position, which is beneficial to local governments, residents and managers of the enterprise.
The arrangement of single-industry towns in Russia will be based on the following principles:
A city-forming enterprise is a guarantee of stable and decent wages. Residents of single-industry towns, employed in manufacturing, receive very high salaries. As a rule, the manufactured product turns out to be expensive and unique, so the employer does not save on valuable personnel.
The population of single-industry towns must be provided with a full package of social guarantees. The large companies that are their focus should provide workers with health care and protection, insurance services, spa treatment and promote the children of employees with a decent education. Such a single-industry city will never be empty - attractive jobs will attract qualified specialists from other cities.
Decent employees - decent housing! The experience of the existence of town-forming enterprises in Russia shows that their employees are always provided with housing in a privileged manner. The employer either provides them with living space on their own, or allocates funds for this.
