Boris Vladimirovich Zakhoder is from Moldova. According to the entry in the birth certificate, he was born on September 9, 1918 in the family of a lawyer. The child's father was famous in the district as a specialist with rich practice. Mother spoke almost all European languages and mostly worked as a translator. After a while, the family moved to Odessa, and after a couple of years it finally settled in the capital. Boris possessed a sharp eye and quick reaction. I easily and eagerly studied foreign languages. He was engaged in general physical training and loved boyish companies on the street.

After school, Zakhoder decided to get an education at the biological department of Moscow State University. However, two semesters later, in 1938, he transferred to the Literary Institute. In the creative biography of the poet it is noted that it was here, at the seminar of Pavel Antakolsky, that his first poems appeared. When the war with Finland began, Boris went to the front with a group of students. He learned from his own experience how soldiers live in harsh combat conditions. Zakhoder kept a diary and neatly wrote down all the main events that he observed.

After the end of the winter campaign, the students returned to the auditorium of the Literary Institute. However, the Great Patriotic War began, and young people again had to take up arms. Boris had to fight in familiar places, on the Karelian front. Then he was transferred to the first Ukrainian front, where already an experienced writer was engaged in the publication of the famous newspaper "Fire on the Enemy". His poems regularly appeared on the pages of various periodicals.

Literary activity

When the guns died down, the whole country returned to peaceful labor. Boris Zakhoder, after demobilization, completed his studies at the Literary Institute and took up thoughtful work on serious works. The first poem published in the newspaper was called "Letter I". The first book, which was published in 1952, was called "On the back desk". Prominent experts in the field of children's literature highly appreciated Zakhoder's work. It is important to note that Boris has been a high-quality translation of foreign children's writers into Russian.

From the pen of a professional translator came the books "Alice in Wonderland", "Winnie the Pooh", "Peter Pan" and many others. It would not be an exaggeration to say that several generations of Soviet people grew up on the works of Boris Zakhoder. Talented graphic designers collaborated with the writer and poet. Children's books need special illustrations that develop the imagination.

Zakhoder's writing career developed successfully, which cannot be said about his personal life. Boris had to marry three times. For the first time before the war. The windy woman did not wait for him from the Finnish company. Love for a woman and children are two different substances. The second wife was the famous actress Kira Smirnova. Husband and wife have lived under the same roof for over twenty years. The third wife is Galina Romanova. She left a book of good memories about the children's writer. Boris Zakhoder died on November 7, 2000.
