Alexander Makarov, chairman of the St. Petersburg government committee for state use and protection of monuments, filed a lawsuit against Ksenia Sobchak with the Tverskoy Court of Moscow. The official accuses the socialite of insulting his honor, dignity and business reputation.
It all started with a message from Sobchak on the Twitter microblog. Ksenia wrote that "the chairman of the GIOP Makarov requested a list of Jews working in the committee and fired them." In the same entry, she clarified that although the information is very strange, it was officially confirmed by some high-ranking officials.
Makarov himself, or rather, the press service of the committee instantly denied this statement. In the release, it was explained that the reason for dismissal in this serious organization can only be unprofessionalism, but not belonging to one or another nationality. Also, officials said that the chairman of the committee never asked for any lists from subordinates and did not fire anyone, and the KGIOP will continue to function according to the staffing table, which was approved earlier.
In the same press release, Ksenia Sobchak was warned that she should immediately apologize to Alexander Makarov, and just as publicly as she insulted him. And at the same time, present the names of high-ranking people who allegedly confirmed information about the upcoming dismissals of Jews. In addition, the TV presenter was recommended to remove the scandalous entry from her microblog.
Sobchak herself reacted to all these statements with obvious amazement. She commented on what was happening: “They are crazy, I wrote that I was told and opened the quotes. And she herself wrote that infa, to put it mildly, is strange."
Meanwhile, Alexander Makarov filed a lawsuit against Ksenia Sobchak in the Tverskoy Court of Moscow. According to rumors, the official estimated the moral damage at 10 million rubles. Makarov himself does not publicly specify the amount of the claim. However, he claims that if he wins the case, he will not take the money for himself, but will direct it to the restoration of one of the children's music schools in St. Petersburg.
