On March 27, 1948, the future popular artist was born in post-war Moscow. Despite the cramped living conditions and difficult life, parents tried to instill in their children a love for everything beautiful. So, Alexey attended an art studio, and when he wished to learn to play the accordion, he received a coveted and expensive instrument at that time.
After receiving a certificate of secondary education, Zharkov enters the Moscow Art Theater School. And then, for thirty-three years, the Theater named after Maria Ermolova became his creative home, with a break for work during the “nineties” at the Moscow Art Theater named after A. P. Chekhov.
Alexey Zharkov made his cinematic debut at the age of fourteen, when he played the pioneer Petya in the children's film Hello, Children! In 1972, Alexey Zharkov met at the theater, where he performed on stage, with his future wife, the flight attendant Lyubov. A girl from among the fans of his talent presented a bouquet of flowers as a token of gratitude for the virtuoso play of the actor, and a month later the young people had a wedding. In this happy and only marriage, the couple had a son, Maxim, and a daughter, Anastasia.
And on June 5, 2016, the People's Artist of Russia passed away. The death of Alexei Dmitrievich Zharkov came after a second heart attack in March 2016. During the last month of his life, he was hospitalized and spent in a hospital bed. Unfortunately, the doctors failed to save the life of the popular artist, and today his ashes rest at the Pokrovskoe (Selyatinskoe) cemetery in the Moscow region.
