Biography

The future footballer was born in August 1978 on the nineteenth in the Belarusian city of Gomel. In the Soviet Union, it was customary to enroll children in all kinds of sections, especially since most of them were free. Little Sergei was a very active child and loved sports. With his hobbies, he actually simplified the choice of parents, it was decided to enroll him in the football section. In addition, it is in Gomel that one of the best football academies in Belarus is located. The boy was accepted without any special tests.

Nikitenko signed his first professional agreement with the Vedrich football club from the small town of Rechitsa. The contract was for two years. Due to strong competition and minor injuries, the young player spent much less time on the field than he would have liked. In two seasons, he only appeared on the field thirty times. When the contract with the club ended, he returned to his native Gomel, where he found himself at the most opportune moment. In fact, from the first matches, he was put in the starting lineup. In turn, Sergei gave all the best in each match to justify the hopes placed on him.

Six fruitful years in the Gomel club were held at the highest level, during which time the player became the owner of the Belarus Cup in 2002. And in 2003, FC Gomel won the country's top league and became the champion. But despite such high results, Nikitenko in 2003 decided on a real adventure. Under the current agreement with FC Gomel, he, bypassing any rules, tried to agree on a contract with the Ukrainian club Kryvbas. Of course, this incident did not go unnoticed, the player was disqualified for four months, but then the punishment was removed ahead of schedule.

After three seasons in Ukraine, the player decided to return to his homeland, where he played for Gomel, Savit, Khimik and many other clubs. Without stopping anywhere for a long time, he toured almost all over the country and in 2012 stopped at FC Vitebsk. There, at the end of the season, he decided to end his playing career.

In 2013, Nikitenko was invited to work in his native club Gomel, where he began to coach the second team. In 2016 he was in charge of the youth team born in 2001. Since 2017, he has been a trainer for scientific and methodological work in the same "Gomel".

Personal life

The famous Belarusian footballer lives a rather secretive and unofficial life. He prefers not to talk about his family and personal life.
