Biography
Denis Sergeevich Zuev was born in the Ukrainian city of Zhdanovka. Now this settlement belongs to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. And in mid-April 1978, when a blue-eyed boy was born in the Zuev family, Ukraine and Russia lived together, there were no unnecessary conflicts here.
But fate prepared a serious test for the future hero, he nevertheless became a participant in hostilities, but later.
And after receiving secondary education, Denis went to Russia to enter the Agricultural Academy in the city of Belgorod. He chose for himself the necessary peaceful profession in order to work on the land. Then Denis Zuev is transferred to the State University of Belgorod, as he wanted to be a biologist-chemist.
Military service
When the young man was 20 years old, he was called to serve in the airborne troops. At first, he paid his debt to the Motherland in the city of Tula. The young man jumped with a parachute more than once, was a gallant paratrooper.
War
Denis was sent to the second Chechen war in the fall of 1999. By this time he had already become a senior sergeant. On account of Denis Sergeevich there were many military operations.
Then the future famous hero was transferred to serve in a reconnaissance platoon.
Feat
At the end of November 1999, together with a group of comrades, Denis went to an important operation. The guys were ordered to carry out reconnaissance operations near the point where the militants were based. But they found Russian soldiers and opened fire on them.
The guys did not have the opportunity to retreat, since heavy fire did not allow them to do so.
Denis realized that all the guys were threatened with destruction. Then he made a heroic decision - he crawled to the bandits' stronghold, deciding to go through the flank.
Without giving the militants a chance to come to their senses, Zuev threw two grenades at them. Thus, he was able to destroy the enemy machine gunners. After that, the brave hero burst into the militants' stronghold and began to shoot at them from a machine gun. With these actions, he was able to destroy several more enemy units.
Then Denis Sergeevich grabbed a machine gun and began to shoot at the bandits with this weapon. With these actions, he was able to destroy several opponents, cause the confusion of the rest. The senior sergeant distracted the bandits' attention from the group as they began firing at him. But the brave hero did not give up. When he was wounded, he still did not stop firing.
But the forces were unequal, so the hero fell in battle. And at this time, a company of paratroopers was in a hurry to the scene of action, which destroyed the militants, but they did not have time to save Denis.
For heroism, courage, courage, senior sergeant Denis Sergeevich Zuev was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation, but posthumously. A street in Belgorod is named in honor of this brave man, his bust is installed in this city, and a memorial plaque hangs on his house.
