The verdict passed the other day in Moscow to the members of the notorious punk band Pussy Riot N. Tolokonnikova, M. Alekhina and N. Samutsevich was received ambiguously both in Russia and abroad. People disapprove of the hooligan trick of the girls from this group in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. But, nevertheless, they believe that the trial proceeded with an obvious accusatory bias, and the sentence - two years in prison for each - was too harsh.
Supporters of Pussy Riot are sincerely convinced that Tolokonnikova, Alekhina and Samutsevich became victims of medieval obscurantism and the policy of abandoning democracy.
Many media outlets, especially in the West, diligently portray stupid hooligans as almost martyrs. They say they suffered, defending freedom of speech and the right of a creative person to self-expression. In a matter of months, propaganda turned the mediocre and voiceless members of the group with an indecent name into almost stars, and turned their vulgar, cynical trick into creative self-expression. Rarely can anyone boast of such stunning PR! Moreover, in defense of the unfortunate girls who suffered for their courage and civil position, real stars spoke out, including even the world famous Paul McCartney. Although there are great doubts whether Sir Paul was well aware of what exactly those girls, in whose defense he spoke out, did.
One of the convicts, N. Tolokonnikova, who became famous for a number of shocking actions in which she participated (including public copulation in a museum, and even in her ninth month of pregnancy), frankly admitted that she did not feel the slightest remorse, and was even happy that she was at the epicenter of such a major scandal. No comments are needed here.
Pussy Riot followers have already taken several high-profile and blasphemous actions. For example, in the ancient city of Pskov, they desecrated an ancient monument of history and architecture - the Cathedral of John the Baptist, putting an inscription on its wall in support of this group. In Moscow, several young fools put on balaclavas on a number of monuments, including even a monument to partisans - heroes of the Great Patriotic War at the Belorusskaya metro station. Outraged passengers, in front of whom this cynical act of blasphemy was committed, detained the freedom fighters and handed them over to the police.
However, the scandalous members of the Ukrainian group Femen, whose antics have long crossed all boundaries, turned out to be out of competition. Half-naked "femen", taking a chainsaw, cut off the worship cross installed in the center of Kiev to perpetuate the memory of the innocent victims of political repression of the Stalin era. After this trick, a criminal case was opened against the hooligans.
