If people have never gone to church or participated in church life before, many questions arise before them: To whom should they pray for the birth of children? Christ turned to the blind, asking Him to restore their sight: "According to your faith, be it unto you." These words show us that the most important thing in prayer before any icon is sincere faith. There are many different prayers for the gift of children: prayer to the Lord God, the Blessed Virgin, prayers to Matrona of Moscow and Xenia of Petersburg, to Sergius of Radonezh, prayers in front of various icons of the Mother of God. You can also pray for pregnancy in your own simple words, most importantly, turn to the Lord and the saints with faith that your request will be heard.
Step 2
You can pray for pregnancy in front of any icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. It is believed that the icons "Feodorovskaya", "Healer", "Merciful", "Mammal" are especially helpful in conceiving a child. The icon "Healer" comes from Georgia. In Moscow, the miraculous image of this icon is in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Sokolniki. The miraculous icon "Merciful" is in the Conception Monastery in Moscow. There are special prayers in front of these icons, but you can also pray in your own words if the texts of the prayers are not very clear to you.
Step 3
It is better if both spouses pray for the birth of a baby in front of the icons. But if your husband does not believe in God's help and does not want to go to church, do not despair, this does not mean that the Lord will not hear your prayers. In the prayers before the icons, also mention your spouse, ask that the Lord does not leave him and help him gain faith in him.
Step 4
If you are especially close to a certain saint, for example, Matrona of Moscow or Nicholas the Wonderworker, you can pray in front of their icons. You can also read the Akathist to this saint. Akathist is a kind of praise prayer, which describes the whole life and miracles of the saint.
Step 5
Before any prayer, he does not prevent him from going to church for confession, to cleanse his soul from the sins accumulated over the years of his life. After all, bodily illnesses are a manifestation of spiritual illnesses. Very often, with a change in a person's lifestyle, with the appearance of a spiritual component in his life, ailments disappear. The inability to conceive a child can be attributed to spiritual ailments, as the Lord shows families that they need to change something in their life and change themselves.
Step 6
If you have never received Communion before, be sure to do so. Communion is the most important church sacrament, in which we symbolically taste the body and blood of Christ in the form of bread and wine, thereby becoming a part of eternal life. The sacrament cleanses our soul, it is a kind of "medicine" for the soul. If you are determined to ask God to have children, do not neglect church ordinances. The sacrament is not some kind of magical ritual, while partaking, we remember the Last Supper, when Christ distributed bread and wine to his disciples with the words “this is my body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
