How many countries there are - so many traditions. Each nation has its own customs and values. First of all, this concerns the seed structure. The Tatars have long built their family life according to the laws of their religion - Islam. To this day, it is faith that does not allow the Tatars to dissolve among other peoples, it keeps people from blurring moral values.
Among Muslims, and in particular among the Tatars, the family is highly valued. Marriage is considered a natural necessity for procreation. Among the Tatars, marriage is the sacred duty of any man. And the sacred duty of a woman is to be a good wife.
Since childhood
From childhood, girls are taught that they are obliged to obey their husbands in everything. Girls are taught to housekeeping and to keep the house clean. Little Tatars get used to obeying men from the cradle - at first they obey their father and brothers. Therefore, in the subsequent submission to her husband does not arouse their protest.
From the very birth, little Tatar women are instilled with respect for men and for older members of the family. They know that when they go to their husband's family, they practically cease to be a member of their family, and move on to another.
Little girls are forced to do housework, clean, wash, cook. All this will come in handy in the future young wife. At the same time, they realize that they will not be the mistress of their husband's house if they have to live with his parents. Therefore, Tatar women marry with the full consciousness that this is right, so necessary.
As it was before
In the past, the choice of a wife was largely influenced by economic considerations. Previously, it was not so much a wife for a particular man who was chosen as a bride for a family. And the family needed a worker who was able to give birth to healthy and strong children.
A Tatar wife should have an agreeable character, be hardworking and respect her husband's parents. The girls were selected during seasonal work. During the work, the girls were observed and their work skills were assessed.
If a daughter-in-law appeared in the house, then the mother-in-law stopped doing anything around the house, as it was considered unworthy of her. The daughter-in-law had to get up earlier than the mother-in-law in the morning. If the mother-in-law was still engaged in some business, then the daughter-in-law at this time could not sit back.
The wife was supposed to be 3-5 years younger than her husband. The social status of the future wife was also of great importance. The social status of the families of husband and wife had to be the same.
The wife had to be of pure origin, that is, she could not be illegitimate. The wife's behavior before marriage had to be impeccable. And the girl could ruin her reputation with an extra smile or a glance towards men.
The wife was supposed to be a virgin. Sometimes widows were married, less often divorced. Such women still had to bear children.
Much attention was paid to the health of a potential daughter-in-law. She shouldn't have had chronic diseases. Also, the family should not have inherited diseases.
Nowadays
The responsibilities of the wife have not changed to this day. By the time the husband arrives from work, the table should be set and the house cleaned. Also, the upbringing of children is completely in the hands of the mother. Until now, the wife cannot pack up her things and go to her relatives if the relationship in the family is not working out. That is, she can leave, only her relatives will not accept her.
In a real wife, the duties are assigned to:
- to live in the husband's house;
- agree to intimacy at the right time in the right place, if decency and health allow;
- be a faithful spouse, avoiding intimacy with strangers;
- not appear in public places without a valid reason;
- not to acquire property without the permission of the husband and not to hire a servant.
The punishment for disobedience can be corporal punishment, imprisonment (house arrest), or divorce.
