Someone will say that the theater is now going through a period of decline, who will say that this is not so. But at present, many have already forgotten the rules of conduct in the theater, but the observance of the basic ones is welcomed by society.
Before the show
First you need to mention the appearance. Nobody forces you to buy expensive jewelry, evening dresses, make an appointment with a hairdresser before going to the theater, as it was in the nineteenth century. It is enough that your clothes are clean and tidy. However, it is best to exclude jeans and sportswear from your theatrical wardrobe. For men, regular trousers, a shirt with a sweater or a jacket are fine. Women can wear suits, low-key dresses, skirts and blouses. In winter, spring and autumn, it is recommended to bring a change of shoes with you.
A visit to institutions such as opera or ballet, however, requires a strict style of dress - dresses, jackets (tuxedos) and jewelry.
It is not recommended to be late for the theater. If you know in advance that your route passes through traffic jams, then you need to guess the time. Often, according to the rules of the theater, latecomers may not be allowed to attend the performance. As a last resort, they will offer seats at the entrance to the hall.
They begin to launch into the hall after the first bell, which is given fifteen minutes before the start of the action. If your seats are in the middle, it is best to go ahead so as not to interfere with people sitting closer to the aisles.
Before the start of the performance, turn off your mobile phone; the voice of the announcer will remind you of this in a small address to the audience before the performance. If you are afraid of missing some important message or call, then leave the device in silent mode.
Do not bring food or carbonated drinks with you. As well as the sound of a mobile phone, any extraneous sounds will annoy the audience and also interfere with the work of the actors. A small bottle of still water is allowed.
Intermission
Intermission is a break between performances, as a rule, it can be one or two. The duration of the break is about fifteen minutes, for exact information contact the ticket collector at the entrance to the hall. During the break, you can share your impressions, visit the buffet or head to the toilet. It is not recommended to lean on alcoholic drinks during the break.
The beginning of the second action will be notified with the same three calls as before the first. Take your seat in the hall and make sure there is no sound on your mobile device.
End of the show
After the end of the performance, the artists go out to bow. If the performance has caused you stormy delight, then it is customary to express it with exclamations of "Bravo!", You can express the greatest appreciation by getting up from your seat and accompanied by a standing bow of the actors.
During the bow of the actors, it is not customary to shout "well done", as well as to photograph the participants in the performance.
Each theater has a book of reviews, which is usually located either at the entrance or at the ushers. In it, you can leave any of your thoughts about what you saw. Rest assured, the actors look into it from time to time.
You should leave the auditorium after the curtain has already closed. Getting up and leaving in a bow is considered bad form and disrespect for theater workers, such behavior is unacceptable.
