The mystery of the birth and youth of the great philosopher

Apollonius was born in Tiana - a place that is located on the site of modern Turkey. The exact date of his birth is unknown (presumably the 4th year BC). A legend is connected with his origin, which tells how, before his birth Proteus, the Egyptian god warned his mother that he would incarnate in her unborn child. Proteus told the mother of Apolonius to go to the meadow to pick flowers. When she came to the place indicated to her by the god Proteus, a flock of white swans formed a chorus around her and, flapping their wings, the birds began to sing in unison, then the wind blew and Apolonius was born.

The philosopher's parents came from a rich and ancient family, however, wealth for the boy became only a way to help those in need. Apollonius deliberately abandoned all earthly goods, and at the age of 14 went to Tarsus to continue his education. At the age of 16, he entered the temple of the Roman Aesculapius Asclepius, where he took the Pythagorean oath. Soon, the young man begins to show the gift of foresight and healing. Not the last place in the life of Apolonius is taking care of the poor and defenseless people.

Soon a significant event took place in the life of a young ancient philosopher. One priest of the temple brings him metal plates, which were maps of the wanderings of Pythagoras. Apollonius decides to follow the same route to Tibet, where he stayed for several months.

The history of mysterious talismans

Apolonius had a mission entrusted to him by his spiritual teachers. Along the way of his wanderings, he had to lay special talismans or magnets in those places where significant historical events will take place in future eras that will have a huge impact on the fate of all mankind.

The philosopher's contemporaries argued that secret magnets were laid in those places where new powerful states, cities would be born, or where great events would take place.

Philosopher in Rome

The great ancient philosopher goes to Rome. The longtime enemy and envy of the great healer, Euphrates, accused Apolonius in the face of Emperor Domitian of plotting to overthrow the legitimate authority in Rome. Apollonius decides to go to Rome to personally defend his good name.

Apollonius quickly acquired a reputation in Rome as a magician, prophet and miracle worker. He said that he knew the language of animals and birds. An unusual healer managed to prevent the spread of the plague in Ephesus, expelled scorpions from Antioch and preached Christian commandments, although he was not a Christian himself. Once, having met the funeral procession, Apolonius ordered the grieving relatives to lower the coffin with the girl's body to the ground. Then he touched the deceased and uttered some words, after which she came back to life.

Appolonius has proved more than once that he has the gift of teleportation. He could instantly move over great distances, and he did this only when necessary, and not for theatrical effect.

In Rome, he was arrested and thrown into a dungeon, where he was treated extremely cruelly. The philosopher answered all questions in court firmly and confidently, as a result of which all charges against him were dropped. During his speech to the court, Apollonius said that Roman power was rotting from the inside out. Intrigues are woven in the Senate, cowards serve in the army, and the common people of the empire suffer. During Apolonius's speech, many listeners began to jump from their seats and draw their swords from their scabbards, however, the philosopher said that no mortal could kill him, after which he simply disappeared into thin air.

On the same evening, Apollonius appeared before his disciples Damis and Demetrios, who were very far from Rome. The dumbfounded disciples of the philosopher thought that they were in front of a ghost, however, Apolonius calmed them down and invited Demetrius to touch his hand to make sure of the reality of what was happening.

The last years of earthly life

In the last years of his earthly existence, Apollonius settled in Ephesus, where he founded the Pythagorean school. He taught there until he was one hundred years old, and then went to Crete to visit the temple. The priests of the Cretan temple did not want to let the philosopher pass, believing him to be a sorcerer, but the doors of the monastery themselves flung open before Apolonius and the guards parted. The ancient philosopher entered the temple and the doors closed behind him. When, a few minutes later, the priests burst into the temple, there was no one there.

Apollonius of Tyana left the earth. They say that he once again returned to our world to prove to one young man the immortality of the human soul and after that he was never seen again.

During his wanderings, Apolonius of Tyana was a guest of many of the rulers of this world. Its many miracles are documented and have survived to this day. This ancient philosopher was an implacable opponent of any external demonstration of piety, splendor and tinsel of religious rites, hypocrisy and hypocrisy.

Apollonius of Tyana was not afraid of death and preached the immortality of the soul. He said that a soul imprisoned in a body is like a prisoner in a prison, and he considered earthly existence to be a grievous exile.

This quatrain Apollonius sang to the young man in response to his questions about death:

The soul does not know death and, only subject to thought, Like a hobbled horse free from a decaying body

She breaks briskly, shaking off the hateful fetters, In order to return to the native ether from the torments of much labor.
