Instructions
Step 1
Many people are looking for people who have disappeared on the battlefields. These are the creators of Internet resources, children's and youth organizations, employees of specially created television and radio programs. Nameless graves every year becomes less and less, the relatives of the heroes more and more often learn about their fate.
Step 2
The easiest way to find information about your loved ones who participated in the Great Patriotic War is to refer to the relevant sites. To such as www.veterany.org, www.obd-memorial.ru, www.soldat.ru and others. There are data and documents about the disappeared and died on the battlefields. In addition, these portals contain information about the surviving war veterans
Step 3
You do not need to register on the site to find out about a person. Enter the last name, first name, patronymic and date of birth in the search bar. Other data - rank and years of service, medals and orders - mark in the extended questionnaire. Provide all known information about the veteran. Then a positive result is most likely. Information for these portals is obtained by volunteers engaged in excavations in the battlefield. And also people who, by the nature of their work, often encounter lonely old people - social workers, police, medical personnel. The database is constantly updated, so it makes sense to check the lists two or three times a month.
Step 4
When independent searches have led nowhere, contact the program "Wait for me". This is a unique international project. Program staff and volunteers carry out searches not only throughout Russia, but also in other countries. Fill out the form on the website www.poisk.vid.ru to start looking for the veteran. There, describe in great detail the signs of a person. If you have a photo, attach it to the message. In addition, look for a participant in the Great Patriotic War among those who are already listed on the site. To do this, enter your full name in the upper right corner. The resource will give you the entire list of people with suitable parameters. More than sixty people are searched weekly with the help of the "Wait for Me" program. Of these, about thirty percent are those who died on the battlefields and disappeared veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
