Elena Potanina gained fame after becoming a connoisseur of the television club “What? Where? When? . In the legendary game, she made her debut in the women's national team, but soon assembled her team and became its captain.
Biography
Elena Aleksandrovna Potanina is from Siberia. She was born on November 20, 1987 in Novosibirsk. Soon the family decided to change the harsh Siberian climate to the southern one. At the age of three, Elena, together with her parents and brother, moved to Odessa. There she spent her childhood and adolescence.
Already at the Potanin school, she was distinguished by her erudition. She knew how to think logically and memorize a lot of information, so she always took part in various Olympiads and took first places in them.
During her school years, Potanina played in the sports version of “What? Where? When? in Ukraine. She has become a champion many times.
After graduation, Elena went to study at the Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University at the Faculty of Law. Her specialization has become criminology and criminal law.
In the Russian version of “What? Where? When? Elena has been playing since she was 19. She made her debut in the women's national team led by Ksenia Nakladova. A year later, Potanina already had her own team, where she played as a captain. It consisted of four men and one woman, not counting Elena herself: Roman Orkodashvili (Baku), Mikhail Karpuk (Minsk), Hayk Kazazyan (Yerevan), Andrey Korobeinik (Parnu), Iya Metreveli (Tbilisi). Potanin was repeatedly recognized as the best player on the team.
Three years later, Elena became the head of the Russian national team “What? Where? When? at the Cup of Nations, which was held in Kirov. Then the team became the winner of the tournament.
Career
After graduation, Elena became the editor of the Ukrainian version of “What? Where? When?". A year later, she joined the editorial board of the Brain Ring program. At the same time, Potanina works in her specialty at the law firm "YurKraina".
Soon, Elena moved from Odessa to Moscow, where she still lives. There she tried herself as an author and director of the social project "Sober Look", which was organized according to the idea of the Russian Ministry of Health and Social Development. Elena has worked on the Russia Today channel as a press secretary.
Potanin also worked as a producer of documentaries. With her participation, such stories as "Journey to the Center of the Earth", "The Smartest Skyscraper" were created. Several films were aired by Channel One.
Potanin is often invited to various television programs. So, she took part in "Cruel games", "The smartest" and "Children's pranks".
Personal life
Elena Potanina is not married. In 2011, she met with another well-known connoisseur of the “What? Where? When? - Ilya Novikov. It almost came to the registry office, but the couple unexpectedly announced the breakup.
