Christina Bardash (Gerasimova) is a Ukrainian model and singer performing under the pseudonym Luna. She promotes her work on her own and gained popularity precisely because of her independence from major producers.
Early biography
Christina Bardash (nee Gerasimova) was born in 1990 in the German city of Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz), where her father served. Two years later, the family returned to their native Ukraine and settled in Kiev. During her school years, Christina was fond of music and dancing. She studied ballet, choral singing, trained solfeggio, and studied guitar.
After school, the girl entered the university at the Faculty of Journalism, continuing to engage in creativity. She also moonlighted as a model and actress, starring in several clips of the Quest Pistols group. Later, Christina even personally became a director, filming clips for Noggano, K. A. T. Y. A, the Nerva group and other famous performers.
Creation
While still at school, Kristina Gerasimova began to write poetry and music, but for many years this remained her personal hobby. It was only in 2015 that she decided to take part in the Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days festival as a singer, and soon, under the pseudonym Luna, she released her first album, entitled "Mag-ni-you". After that, Gerasimova became a regular participant in various concerts held in Ukraine, as well as in Russia and Latvia.
Luna writes her songs in the style of pop hits of the 90s, imbued with the creativity of the group "Guests from the Future", Natalia Vetlitskaya and other famous performers of that time. Her works are characterized by melancholy, which is even reflected in the title of the singer's next mini-release - "Sad Dance", which became a real bestseller on the Internet. The next album "Freedom Island" was released in 2017. Christina also released a video for the song "Ogonyok", which has collected a large number of views on YouTube.
Personal life
In the late 2000s, Kristina Gerasimova married the producer and member of the Mushrooms group, Yuri Bardash, taking his last name. Subsequently, Yuri will dedicate the most famous song of the collective "The Ice is Melting" to his wife. At first, family life was going well: the couple moved to Los Angeles, and their son George was born. But over time, the marriage went wrong, and in 2018 Christina and Yuri divorced.
Currently, Christina lives with her son in Kiev. She regained her maiden name and continued to engage in creativity. Luna manages to combine maternal responsibilities with a busy schedule of performances. Recently, Kristina Gerasimova is a frequent guest on Ukrainian and Russian television.
