Laura Quint's creative debut took place at an early age. The girl was only seven years old when she wrote her first musical composition. A talented child was not forced to spend his free time at the instrument. She herself made the decision about when she can take a walk on the street.
Starting conditions
The future pianist was born on July 9, 1953 in an intelligent Soviet family. Parents are native Leningraders. My father worked in one of the design institutes of the defense industry. Mother, a linguist by profession, taught at the Leningrad University. Laura showed a variety of talents from an early age. She easily mastered foreign languages under the supervision of her mother. She had an absolute ear for music. After some hesitation, the parents decided to direct their talented daughter along the "musical path."
Laura began attending music school a year earlier than general education. She studied well. I spent all my free time at the piano. At the age of 14, Quint wrote the song "Ave Maria" and presented it to her classmates and teachers. It is this moment that she considers the beginning of her professional composer's activity. After graduating from school, the promising pianist entered the Leningrad Conservatory. During her student days, Quint was very fruitfully engaged in the composition of musical works. From under her pen came a musical, a symphony and an opera.
Creative activity
Fans and critics never cease to be amazed at Laura Quint's performance. After graduating from the conservatory, she was invited to the post of accompanist of the Leningrad Theater Institute. The songs, written on the verses of famous and novice poets, were performed by all the stars of the Soviet stage. Among them it is enough to name Joseph Kobzon, Irina Ponarovskaya, Alla Pugacheva, Sofia Rotaru. By order of the Maly Drama Theater, Laura wrote the musical Carlson Has Arrived Again. At that time, she was barely eighteen years old.
In 1988, the premiere of the opera Giordano took place on the stage of the Moscow State Central Concert Hall “Russia”. This work has received recognition at the world's leading venues, having withstood fifty sold out houses. The first personal disc of the composer entitled "Jealousy" was released in 1991. Kvint experienced the collapse of the Soviet Union in a creative impulse. She wrote music for plays and films. In 2010, Laura was diagnosed with cancer. With great difficulty, she managed to overcome this terrible disease.
Recognition and privacy
In the current chronological period, Quint is rightfully considered the recognized composer of Russia. For her great contribution to the development of Russian art, she was awarded the honorary title "Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation."
Laura's personal life did not work out the first time. Today she lives in her third marriage with singer Andrei Bill. From his first marriage with composer Alexander Zhurbin, a son, Philip, who now lives in the United States, grew up. Life goes on, and Laura Quint will still delight fans with new works.
