Streltsov Mikhail Leontyevich during his lifetime was a famous figure in literature, translation studies. He has dozens of written works on his account; for his stories, the man mainly used such a literary method as prose.
Biography
The life of the future writer began in 1937 in Belarus. Mikhail's birthday fell on the world famous Valentine's Day - February 14. The boy grew up in a small village called Sychin, Mogilev region. His father devoted his life to teaching, was a very educated person.
After graduating from school in 1954, the guy decided to move to the capital of the country - Minsk. There he decided to enter the Belarusian State University in the philological direction. From childhood, the young man was interested in reading, he enjoyed studying his native language. That is why his choice fell on the specialty "Journalism". Mikhail received higher education for 5 years.
Streltsov devoted most of his life to working for various magazines and weekly publications. In 1961 he got a job in a popular at that time magazine, which was devoted to political topics - "Polymya". Then the publication "Literature and Mastatsva" appeared in Mikhail's life, where he stayed for a long 10 years. He was able to lead the department dedicated to art, achieved significant results in this position.
The life of a writer and journalist ended tragically in 1987, with esophageal cancer becoming the cause of death. Streltsov was buried in the capital of his homeland, at that time the man was barely fifty years old.
Creative activity
The author created his first literary work as a student - in 1957. Then his story was called "Houses" and for some time was published in the magazine "Maladost".
And the first collection of Mikhail Leontyevich's prosaic works was published in 1962, the writer called it “Blakitny Vecer”. There he first showed his skills as a psychologist, brilliantly depicted the rural life of ordinary people on paper. The collection immediately began to enjoy popularity among the common working people.
The main direction of the author's work was writing psychological works that allowed the ordinary reader to feel the emotions of the characters, to think about important things. Subsequently, he published about a dozen of his collections, most of them found their response among various audiences.
The books of the popular journalist were translated into several foreign languages, Mikhail himself participated in the process of adapting his works to other languages. The author is known in the CIS countries, Italy, some regions of Europe.
Streltsov Prize
Due to the fact that Streltsov made an invaluable contribution to the development of literature in Belarus, he was awarded the State Literary Award in the field of poetry and drama - the Yanka Kupala Prize. The decisive impetus for obtaining such a significant achievement was the collection of poems - "My clear light."
