Childhood and adolescence: the beginning of a biography
The future football star was born in 1968 in the small French town of Bayonne. Didier's paternal maternal ancestors belonged to the Basques. This nation is known for its love of freedom, intransigence, will to win and steadfastness. All these qualities from childhood were inherent in Deschamps himself, helping him in his football career.
The boy's sporting future was predetermined by his father, who identified his son in the rugby team. However, this discipline has special requirements for the players. Then there was a one-year contract with Bordeaux and a return to Marseille, from which Deschamps' stellar career began.
From the first days of his return, Deschamps became the captain of his team. Under his leadership, Olympic won several championships. In 1994 Deschamps moved to the Juventus club, where he continued his career with brilliance, the pinnacle of which was the winning of the UEFA Cup.
Didier awaited a real triumph in 1998 with the French national team. The country was the host of the next World Cup and the team presented their compatriots with a gift, winning the championship cup for the first time. The final game was included in all manuals and textbooks, and the audience enjoyed it. Having achieved all possible heights as a player, in 2001 Deschamps announced his retirement as a football player.

Deschamps' wife Claude is far from sports, but she always supports her husband and shares his interests. In 1996, the couple had a son, Dylan.
