The word dating is derived from the English "Dating", which translates as dating or means going on dates. Russian translation loses some of the English meaning, indicating the length of the process. Yet, by dating, English-speaking people often mean precisely the process of a couple's communication with each other, which lasts until people begin to live together. In Russia, a similar process, when a couple meets, is usually perceived somewhat differently. Lovers may not live under the same roof, but usually the very fact that they are dating imposes certain obligations on them. There is no such thing in the English meaning of dating. Partners, in fact, do not have obligations to each other, they can also freely meet with other people. Usually, the fact that they appoint dates only to each other is stipulated additionally, and not at all implied.
In Russia, on the contrary, if you want to honestly meet with several partners (even if it is only for the duration of the “candy-bouquet” period), all of them need to be warned about this, otherwise you are, in fact, deceiving these people by acting contrary to the generally accepted norm.
