From the biography of Sergei Ursulyak
The future director was born on June 10, 1958 in Khabarovsk. The family where he was born was the most ordinary. My father served in the army and was forced to change garrisons all the time. Ursulyak's mother was a teacher by education, she worked as a school teacher.
After the birth of Sergei, the family settled in Magadan. From an early age, the boy loved to read. In particular, he was carried away by historical novels and adventure literature. Every year on vacation, he went to his grandmother in the suburbs. Therefore, Sergei had the opportunity to visit theaters and philharmonic societies in Moscow.
Ursulyak admired the acting and theatrical performances. Mom told him a lot about popular artists, read modern and classical plays to his son. This was one of the reasons why Sergei chose creativity as his main occupation.
Sergei was especially interested in the works of Eldar Ryazanov, who skillfully verified every staging moment in his paintings.
