Your baby was born, and now the baby should become a full citizen of his country. To do this, parents need to go to the registry office and get the first official document of the newborn - a birth certificate.

The birth registration of a child is carried out by a civil registry office (REGISTRY OFFICE). Parents need to contact the registry office at the place of birth of the baby or at the place of registration of the parents. This registration is necessary in order to officially confirm the fact of the birth of a new person. At the same time, he will be given a first name, surname and patronymic, and parents will also be established - mother and father. This document is called a birth certificate. The form of this document has been filled in typographically on stamped paper. Each form is a document of strict reporting, on which the series and number are affixed. The certificate is filled in by an employee of the registry office and certified by the official seal. Also, the birth record is entered into the register of acts of civil status.

To register a child in the registry office, the following documents must be submitted:

- a birth certificate issued at the hospital;

- parents' passports;

- marriage certificate (if any);

- Application for registration of a child (filled in the registry office in the prescribed form).

When the parents are legally married to each other, any of them can apply to the registry office to register the child. If the parents are not married, but the child's father confirms his paternity and wants his details to be indicated on the birth certificate, then you need to come to the registry office together. In this case, a child's birth certificate will be issued and paternity will be legally established.

If the mother is not in official relations with the baby's father and paternity has not been established for the child, then the child's name is entered at the request of the mother, the patronymic is recorded by the name of the person indicated as the child's father, and the surname is assigned by the mother's surname. In this case, at the request of the mother, the data about the father may not fit into the record of the birth certificate.

If for some reason the parents cannot go to the registry office themselves, then this can be done by a person authorized by the parents, who must have a power of attorney confirming his authority, certified by a notary. An application for the birth of a child must be submitted to the registry office no later than one month from the date of his birth. After the registration of the child, the parents will be issued: a child's birth certificate, a birth certificate for receiving a one-time benefit, a paternity certificate (if the parents are not married).
