Biography

Fyodor Filippovich Konyukhov was born on December 12, 1951 into a large peasant family. Philip Mikhailovich and Maria Efremovna Konyukhovs had five children. The family lived in the village of Chkalovo, Zaporozhye region.

The head of the family, a hereditary fisherman, worked in a fishing cooperative on the Sea of Azov. Maria Efremovna was a housewife. The woman devoted her whole life to her family.

From an early age, Fedor loved the sea, and his father often took him to fish.

The boy was very fond of reading. He read books about great travelers, naval commanders and dreamed of going out to the open sea someday, discovering new shores, and visiting distant countries. During his school years, Fedor went in for sports, believing that these skills would be useful to him on long expeditions. He had no doubt that he would fulfill his dream and become a great traveler. After school, Konyukhov entered the Odessa Naval School. This was followed by studies at the Leningrad Arctic School. Fedor received a diploma of a navigator-navigator. He was confident that the knowledge and skills acquired at the school would certainly bring him closer to the realization of his cherished goal, to become a navigator.

Travels

Fedor made his first sea voyage at the age of fifteen. He independently sailed the Sea of Azov on his father's boat.

1981 - crossing Chukotka on a dog sled.

1983 - a scientific and sports ski expedition to the Laptev Sea. The first polar expedition with Dmitry Shparo's group.

1984 - an international regatta for the Baltic Cup with the crew of DVVIMU, as well as rafting down the Lena River.

In 1985, Konyukhov took part in an expedition through the Ussuri taiga in the footsteps of Vladimir Arseniev and Dersu Uzal.

1986 - skiing on a polar night to the Pole of Relative Inaccessibility in the Arctic Ocean as part of an expedition.

1987 - skiing voyage across Baffin's Land as part of the Soviet-Canadian expedition.

In 1989, the Konyukhov brothers, Fedor and Pavel, took part in the Soviet-American transcontinental bike ride Nakhodka - Moscow - Leningrad. In the same year, Konyukhov went to the North Pole as part of the first Russian autonomous expedition "Arctic" under the leadership of Vladimir Chukov.

In 1990, the traveler made the first solo ski trip in the history of Russia to the North Pole in 72 days.

1991 - participation in the Soviet-Australian motor rally Nakhodka - Brest.

1992 - climbing Elbrus and Everest.

In 1995, Fyodor Fillipovich went alone to the South Pole. The transition lasts 64 days. Konyukhov not only moves across the frozen continent, breaking the icy silence, but also works. So, on behalf of the Minatom, he measures the natural radiation field of Antarctica on the way to the pole, and also assesses his physical and psychological state, enters notes in the journal, fulfilling the request of doctors. 2002 - the first caravan expedition on camels in the history of modern Russia "In the footsteps of the Great Silk Road". In the same year, the first in the history of Russia, crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a rowing boat along the Canary Islands - Barbados route. Konyukhov set a world record - he covered this path in 46 days and 4 hours.

2003 - 2004 are famous for sea crossings and world records set both by one navigator and as part of multinational crews:

· Russian-British transatlantic record sailing with a crew on the Canary Islands - Barbados route (world record for multihull ships - 9 days);

· Russian-British transatlantic record sailing with a crew on the route Jamaica - England (world record for multihull ships -16 days);

2004 year:

· Single transatlantic record crossing from east to west on a maxi-yacht on the Canary Islands - Barbados route (world record for crossing the Atlantic Ocean - 14 days and 7 hours).

In 2005-2006, the brave sailor took part in the project "Around the Atlantic Ocean" as part of the Russian crew, making a yacht trip along the route England - Canary Islands - Barbados - Antigua - England.

2007 - crossing Greenland on dog sleds from the east to the west coast (record 15 days 22 hours);

2007-2008 - Australian race around Antarctica along the route Albany - Cape Horn - Cape of Good Hope - Cape Louin - Albany (102 days; solo yachtsman, non-stop);

2009 - the second stage of the international expedition "In the footsteps of the Great Silk Road" (Mongolia - Kalmykia);

2011 - expedition "Nine Highest Peaks of Ethiopia";

May 19, 2012, as part of the Russian team "7 Summits" Konyukhov made his second ascent to the top of Everest.

2013 - crossing the Arctic Ocean on a dog sled from the North Pole to Canada.

On December 22, 2013, Konyukhov sets off for the Pacific crossing in a rowboat without entering the ports. The journey lasted 160 days and ended on May 31, 2014. It was the first crossing of the Pacific Ocean on a rowboat from continent to continent, in addition, Konyukhov showed the best result for going alone in a rowboat without calling in ports and outside assistance (the best of such previous trips lasted 273 days).

On July 23, he landed safely in western Australia, setting a new world record for a round-the-world flight (11 days 4 hours and 20 minutes).

On February 9, 2017, together with the master of sports in aeronautics Ivan Menyailo, he broke the world record for the time of a non-stop flight in a fully hot air balloon - a Binbank Premium hot air balloon. The flight lasted 55 hours 15 minutes, a distance of more than 1000 km was covered.

Creation

Konyukhov made more than 50 unique expeditions and ascents. The knowledge gained over the years of traveling around the world, the thoughts and feelings of a person alone with the formidable forces of the planet found their expression in the paintings and books of this amazing person.

Back in 1983, Konyukhov was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR. He is the author of more than three thousand paintings, a participant in Russian and international exhibitions. Since 2012, Fedor Filippovich is an academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia. The creative method of Fyodor Konyukhov as an artist is based on the creation of a single image of nature and man. Having lived for five years in Chukotka, he created more than a hundred graphic sheets on the theme “Life and everyday life of the peoples of the North”. Konyukhov's creative workshop is located in Moscow on Sadovnicheskaya Street. In 2004, with her, Fyodor Konyukhov built a Chapel in memory of the dead sailors and travelers. The chapel was consecrated in the name of Nicholas the Miracle Worker of Mirliki and attributed to the Vysoko-Petrovsky Monastery. In 2010, on the day of the Holy Trinity, Fyodor Konyukhov was ordained a deacon. And in December of the same year, on the day of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, he was ordained a priest in his small homeland in the St. Nicholas Church in Zaporozhye. Personal life

Fedor Filippovich Konyukhov is a happy husband and father. The wife of Fedor Filippovich Irina Anatolyevna Konyukhova, Doctor of Law, Professor.

For the first time Fedor Konyukhov and Irina Umnova met in 1995. At that time, Irina was working on her doctoral dissertation, work for the Federation Council, and had a law degree. As the spouses say, they fell in love at first sight. At the time of her acquaintance with Fedor, Irina already had two sons, whom she raised herself. Having tied the knot, the couple traveled together. For family well-being, Irina decided to quit her successful career.

In his first marriage, Fedor had a son, Oscar, and a daughter, Tatyana. There is a three-year difference between them. The son built a career as a sports manager. Tatiana lives in the United States. With his second wife, Fedor's son Nikolai was born in 2005.

Currently, the family has three adult children (daughter Tatyana, sons Oscar and Nikolai) and six grandchildren (Philip, Arkady, Polina, Blake, Ethan, Kate). The son of Konyukhov, Oscar dedicated his life to sailing. From 2008 to 2012, Oscar served as executive director of the Russian Sailing Federation. The son of Fyodor Filippovich has a cherished dream - to make a round-the-world voyage without stopping in 80 days. The expedition requires huge material investments and for this reason it remains only in the plans so far.

Fedor Konyukhov and his wife Irina Konyukhov acquired 69 hectares of land in the Zaoksky district of the Tula region, on which he planned to build a whole village, nine chapels, the Church of St. pr. The site where it was decided to create the village of Fedor Konyukhov is located three kilometers from the Oka River. The goal of the project is, first of all, to create a unique and cozy place for life and communication of like-minded people, including travelers, writers, artists.

The name of Fyodor Konyukhov is among the outstanding figures of science and technology in the international encyclopedia "Chronicle of Humanity". The traveler was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples, a UNESCO diploma for his contribution to the environment.

In addition to the main business of his whole life - travel, Fyodor Filippovich writes poetry, organ music and works of art.
