The admirers of the poet, who, coming to St. Petersburg, want to visit his grave, are surprised to learn that the great poet has found his last refuge in a city they do not love. In the city, where there are so many memorable places associated with the life and work of Pushkin, there is no most important shrine - the poet's grave. And in order to figure out how this happened, one must return on a January evening in 1837 to the outskirts of St. Petersburg - to the area of the Black River.
The last duel
The duel between Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and Dantes ended tragically - the poet was fatally wounded in the stomach. Friends managed to bring Pushkin to his apartment on the Moika River and invited doctors. But all efforts were in vain, and two days later the poet died. Doctors did not hide from Pushkin the seriousness of his situation, and he managed to do several important things before his death. He sent a letter to Emperor Nicholas 1 with a request to forgive his act (after all, duels at that time in Russia were prohibited) and asked not to leave his family and children without the help of the state. The emperor did not disregard the poet's requests. And on January 29, Pushkin died.
Parting
The poet's funeral service took place in compliance with all precautions. At the last moment, the place of the funeral service, which was supposed to take place in St. Isaac's Cathedral, was changed to the Stable Church on the night of January 1. This was due to the fact that there could be more people wishing to say goodbye to the poet, the funeral procession would turn into a huge procession of the crowd. Only the closest relatives and friends of the poet were present at the funeral service, and the gendarmes sent there by the emperor kept order. After the funeral service, the coffin with the poet's body was taken to the burial place in the family tomb near the walls of the Svyatogorsk monastery in the Pskov province.
Family estate
Why exactly there, near Pskov, and not in St. Petersburg, was Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin buried? But it was in the village of Mikhailovskoe that the family estate of the Hannibals was located, granted to the poet's great-grandfather at the end of the 17th century. Pushkin spent a lot of time at the estate, here he wrote chapters from Eugene Onegin. Here in Mikhailovskoye and sent the poet into exile in 1824 by order of the emperor. Pushkin often healed when he visited the Trigorskoye estate to his friends Osipov-Wulf. And it was there that the famous lines "I remember a wonderful moment …" were born, which the poet dedicated to Anna Kern.
Pushkin mountains
Now all the estates and the Svyatogorsk monastery are combined into one large museum complex - Pushkinskie Gory. And the poet's grave was preserved, despite the trials that the monastery had to endure during the Great Patriotic War. Unfortunately, the Mikhailovskoye estate burned down, but in its place they built exactly the same house in which the poet's museum is now located. A beautiful garden has also survived, with ponds, a "hundred-year-old" tree, paths along which Pushkin loved to walk. You can come to Pushkin Hills for the whole day, pay tribute to the memory of the poet near his grave, take a walk in the park and remember many of Pushkin's beautiful lines.
