It should be borne in mind that such bodies are not part of the system of state power, therefore, many benefits granted to the deputies of the State Duma do not apply to them.
Step 2
The procedure for elections to the local council is determined by the charter of the municipality. This can be either election by party lists or elections by the majority system, when the candidate with the most votes wins in each constituency. However, the rules for those wishing to vote are the same. According to the law, any citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached the age of 21 and has no outstanding convictions can become a deputy. In addition, the candidate's place of residence must be within the district whose interests he intends to represent.

In order to run for deputies of a local representative body of power, you must submit a written application to the election commission, in which you will need to indicate your passport data, occupation, information about education, as well as supporting documents. In addition, you will need to provide data on income and assets. An important role is played by the fact whether you are a self-nominated candidate or are running for elections from a registered political party. This affects the need to collect signatures and pay an electoral deposit.
Step 4
After the application is submitted, you can open an electoral account and begin collecting signatures, the number of which is equal to one percent of the voters in your district divided by the number of mandates. Once an electoral account is opened, you can pay your electoral deposit immediately. Having collected all the documents and signatures, you need to submit them to the election commission, make the necessary corrections in case of errors. If everything is done correctly, the commission will decide on your registration as a candidate, and you can start your election campaign.
