William "Billy" Gaiter Crudup is an American theater, film and television actor. He became interested in art as a child and dreamed of an acting career. Krudap began his creative biography on the theater stage, where he played in classical plays. The actor is best known for his roles in the films: "Sleepers", "Big Fish", "Keepers", "Mission Impossible 3", "Alien: Covenant".
Crudup is very sensitive to the choice of roles. It is not important for him to be in the center of the picture, but it is important that the character is interesting to him. Most of his characters are not perfect, but they are ready to make every effort to correct the mistakes they have made.
Today Billy is actively working on new projects. On his account there are already more than forty roles in films and TV shows. In 2019, several films with his participation will appear on the screens.
early years
Billy's biography began in the United States, where he was born in the summer of 1968, to a family of ordinary employees. He spent the first years of his life in Texas, and then his parents moved to Florida with their three children.
From childhood, Billy wanted to be in the spotlight, so he often arranged various performances at home and organized concerts. The hobby for the theater did not disappear even during his school years. Billy took part in all theatrical productions and almost always played the main roles in performances. Gradually, his hobby grew into a desire to devote his life to creativity, so Krudap began to take individual acting lessons.
After graduating from school, Billy went to North Carolina, where he entered the university, and then continued his education at an art school. After receiving professional acting education, the young man is invited to the troupe of one of the theaters, where he has been performing on stage for several years.
His first Broadway production, The Three Sisters, was a great success. And soon they began to talk about Billy in theatrical circles as a talented young actor. Working in the theater brought the young man great pleasure, but he achieved fame only after he was on the set.
Film career
Krudap got into the cinema in 1994. He was offered a small role in the film "Wheel of Fate", where he played a race car driver who was imprisoned. The film appeared on the screens only three years later and did not bring the actor either success or fame.
Two years later, he again starred in a new project. This time it was the crime drama Sleepers. Billy found himself on the set with famous actors D. Hoffman, R. De Niro, B. Pitt.
Crudup got his first major role in the movie "The Fictional Life of the Abbots", where Joaquin Phoenix became his partner on the set. The film tells the story of the life of two brothers from an ordinary family, trying to join an aristocratic society.
A year later, Krudap was invited to play in the film "Country of Hills and Valleys". The film was well received by audiences and film critics, and won a directing prize at the Berlin Film Festival.
His next works were roles in the films: "No Limit", "Informer", "Awakening the Dead", "Almost Famous." Krudap embodied a wonderful image on the screen in the film "Beauty in English", where he played an actor who plays all the main roles in a London theater and who lost his job after the king's decree allowing not only men but also women to perform on stage.
Among the works of Crudup, his roles in the films deserve special attention: "Big Fish" by Tim Burton, "False Temptation" by Robert De Niro, "Trust This Guy", "Mission Impossible 3", "Eat, Pray, Love", "Guardians", Johnny D., Alien: Covenant, Gypsy.
Personal life
Crudup for a long time lived in a civil marriage with actress Mary-Louise Parker. They were together for almost seven years, but broke up in November 2003. And in January of the following year, the son of Mary and Billy, William Atticus, was born.
Currently, the actor is not married and, despite the fact that he is already 50 years old, is not going to arrange his family life.
