In the modern world, spirituality is far from the first place among life's needs. Value disorientation gradually leads to the degeneration of spiritual benefits, by which different concepts are meant in each area of human life.

Step 1

For many, spirituality is associated only with religiosity, although it is in demand in other areas of public life: psychology, philosophy, cultural studies, pedagogy and even political science. It is the pivot that supports each of these areas individually and society as a whole.

Step 2

In religion, spirituality is seen as the presence of the Holy Spirit in a person. The more a person approaches God, the deeper his spiritual life becomes. But what if the person is not a believer? Is he spiritless? Of course not. It's just that his morality is measured by other values. For example, a craving for the heights of culture and self-improvement. Often times, people of art are even assigned a "spiritual status." But every year creativity becomes more and more popularized, which leads to the loss of its true purpose - to touch the best strings of the human soul.

Step 3

Human existence would be impossible without three main values: truth, beauty and goodness. It is they who make up the formula of spirituality, through which a person is aware of the world around him and forms his attitude towards it. With its help, a person comprehends his purpose and life meaning. Now these values are fading into the background. The concept of "degradation of society" is increasingly used, which is addressed to the younger generation. If people who grew up in the Soviet era were instilled with moral principles from childhood, then their children were given complete freedom in these matters.

Step 4

In our century, less and less attention is paid to improving education. From the process of forming a moral culture, the emphasis has shifted to the learning outcome. Getting an education is seen as a formality, and not as a source of spiritual growth of an individual.

Step 5

Modern youth less and less often turns to fiction, designed to educate feelings, develop creative activity and understand life. The classics are being replaced by mass culture, whose task is, rather, to entertain, rather than contribute to the formation of independent thinking.

Step 6

The family ceases to be the standard of upbringing, and the divorce statistics only confirm this. Money is becoming the main ingredient for success, displacing love, kindness and caring. In a world ruled by individualism, people simply lack mutual understanding and mutual support. Personal growth turned out to be more important than activities for the good of others.

Step 7

Spirituality reflects the wealth of the inner world and the degree of perfection of the individual. An objective assessment of his spiritual life can only be given by the person himself, guided by conscience and agreement with himself. Spirituality needs to be developed by strengthening an active life position, striving for self-knowledge and the desire to make this world a little better.
