To write a poem, you must remember about the peculiarities of the addition of rhyme, the use of artistic means and techniques, especially if such an important topic as "Russia" is chosen. After reading the poem, the reader must experience certain emotions, feelings and experiences.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide what topic you will cover in the poem. Since it will be dedicated to Russia, you can highlight, for example, the resilience of the people during the Patriotic War, the formation of the state from ancient times to the present day, the beauty of Russian nature, etc. In addition, you can speak about the great people who played an important role in the history of the country, as well as events that are worth thinking about.
Step 2
List the images that arise in your head concerning the chosen topic. At the same time, try to ensure that the images you have chosen evoke simple and easily understandable associations among readers (for example, “the city on the Neva” is St. Petersburg, the northern capital of our country, which has gone through many vicissitudes).
Step 3
Try to find your own unique style when writing a poem, since the topic of Russia has already been touched upon by various poets many times. To do this, for example, try using various artistic tropes: metaphors, epithets, hyperbole, comparison, impersonation, and others. They will help "revive" the selected images and significantly diversify the poem.
Step 4
Write on a piece of paper the main words that will be used in the text, and choose as many rhymes as possible for them. There must be a phonetic connection between the words so that they sound expressive ("a fight broke out like thunder"). Try not to use standard, worn-out phrases that many poets used ("… Mother Russia …", "… we will never forget …", etc.).
Step 5
Select the meter (time signature) of the verse to build the tempo and rhythm of the entire piece. It is necessary to work out as carefully as possible the syllables that will be successfully combined in each stanza. For example, the alternation of unstressed and stressed syllables in one line can be repeated in the next, etc. Use more exclamation sentences if you want to encourage your readers to do something.
