There is a version that in ancient times there was a single Vedic culture on Earth, uniting representatives of different races and nationalities. All of them communicated in a single language - "Sanskrit". According to this version, it is from the Vedic culture that all modern cultures and traditions emerged.

Indian Vedism

It is customary to call Vedism an early form of Hinduism, whose basic postulates were set forth in the sacred books - the Vedas. However, academic science interprets the concept of "Vedism" too one-sided - as a pagan religion, which is characterized by the deification of the forces of nature, magical rituals and sacrifices.

Meanwhile, the root "Veda", from which the words "Vedism" and "Vedas" come, carries the meaning of "know", "knowledge". In Russian, this root is found in the words "vedat", "witch", "witch". Thus, the Vedas are a book of knowledge expressed in a specific, poetic and metaphorical language. Vedism is a holistic knowledge of the principles of the harmonious functioning of the Universe, which was expressed in the concept of the interaction of cosmic forces. He talks about the relationship of man with cosmic power, gods and ancestral spirits. Vedism tells people about how the world works and what is the place of a person in it. According to Vedic ideas, life is not only on Earth, but also on the planets of other star systems.

At the head of the Vedic pantheon were Varuna - the god of Heaven, Indra - the god of rain and thunderstorms, Agni - the god of fire and Soma - the god of the moon and an intoxicating drink.

Slavic Vedism

There is also the concept of "Slavic Vedism", which has similar ideas about the structure of the Universe. In the understanding of the ancient Slavs, cosmic forces were embodied, first of all, in the idea of gods. An extensive pantheon of Slavic gods was described in the "Russian Vedas" - the so-called "Veles book". At the head of this system is the image of the Great Triglav, which has absorbed three gods at once - Svarog, Perun and Sventovid. Svarog was revered as the supreme god, creator and creator of the universe. Perun was the god of thunder, thunder, lightning and heavenly fire. Sventovid was considered the god of light (meaning “the whole world”).

The Slavs called themselves children and grandchildren of the gods, their ancestors glorified the gods (hence the name - Slavs). Therefore, the Slavs, along with the gods, took responsibility for the state of the world around them.

It is believed that Slavic Vedism, also known as Pra-Vedism, i.e. righteous faith, preceded the Vedism of India and Iran. At the same time, the Slavs called themselves "Orthodox" long before the adoption of Christianity. The commonality of the early forms of religion confirms the existing hypothesis about the common origin of the Indo-European peoples.
