A native of Dnepropetrovsk, Galina Loginova is today known to domestic and international cinema not only as the mother of Milla Jovovich, but also as an independent movie star with a very unusual fate. Behind the shoulders of the actress there are not so many film works, but at present she is on a new creative upsurge, which is eloquently evidenced by her increased demand among domestic directors.

Biography and filmography of Galina Loginova

On October 28, 1950, the future artist was born into the family of a soldier of the Soviet army. Due to the move of her parents from the garrison to the garrison, Galina traveled almost all over the country. The girl would not have dreamed of a career as an artist, if not for a lucky chance that unexpectedly intervened in her life.

Once, walking down the street and passing by the cinema, where the visiting committee of VGIK worked, Galina, under the influence of an impulsive desire, decided to try her luck. Surprisingly, even without preparation, she successfully auditioned and became a student at the legendary university.

During the training, Loginova, thanks to her attractive appearance and determination, receives an offer for filming in the legendary film "Shadows disappear at noon". The project progressed very hard for three years, but after its release, when Galina was already working at the Dovzhenko film studio in Kiev, she immediately became famous throughout the country. During her student years, Loginova also starred in the film Much Ado About Nothing (1973), based on a script from a Shakespeare play. In parallel, she took part in the filming of the film "Comrade and Brigade".

The next year, there were two more films in the films "Blue Patrol" and "Who Else But You …", in which she got the main female roles. In 1978, Galina Loginova in the form of an evil fairy appeared in the film "A Tale as a Fairy Tale", and in 1979 her character Svetlana became an adornment of the picture "The Breakthrough Man".

And then there was 1980 and her tests in a new role. The role of Molly in the detective story "Millions of Fairfax" could have made the actress even more famous, but because of her move to Europe for family reasons, the country's leadership decided to ban the viewing. Since that time, the actress has received an invitation only to minor and episodic films, and her career is in a very poor state.

And only since 2002, the period of the second heyday of Galina Loginova's cinematic career begins. Now her filmography begins to replenish with new important roles, among which one can distinguish participation in the following projects: "The Hypnotist" (2002), "The Irretrievable Man" (2006), "Freaks" (2010), "Silent Life" (2014).

Currently, the actress has not yet announced the end of her creative career, and therefore her fans have a chance to see the talented actress on their screens.

Personal life of the artist

The family life of Galina Loginova is directly related to her creative destiny. The only husband of the actress was the Serb doctor Boggi Jovovich, who completely turned her whole life upside down. Due to her relationship with a foreigner, the actress, at the peak of her career, began to experience very serious pressure from the KGB, which was expressed not only in threats and moral pressure, but also in the creative oblivion of the Soviet cinematic community.

In 1975, Galina became the mother of her daughter Milla (Militia), who today is a world famous Hollywood star. In the "eighties", when it became clear that she would not be allowed to live peacefully in the country, and Boggy lived and worked in his own private clinic in London, Loginova came to her husband for permanent residence at the earliest opportunity. And seven years later, the Jovovich family moved to the United States, where life with her husband did not work out.

In the first years of their life in the States, they had a very difficult economic situation, they had to work as a servant, a nurse, a taxi driver, a postman and a courier. But this is not the whole list of trials that befell her family. In the early nineties, the husband was imprisoned for seven years on charges of financial fraud. And after being released from prison, their family life could no longer improve, and the couple was forced to leave.

However, by this time, Milla's daughter had already shone, who managed to realize herself as a model and a movie actress. And today, Galina Loginova herself is already a popular actress of the domestic cinema, and she receives regular offers from American directors.
