Islam is one of the most popular religions in the world. Muslims are in awe of the veneration of their holy places and traditions, many of them support each other in difficult everyday situations. Islam can also be accepted in the capital of Russia.
Rejection of the past faith
Before you convert to Islam, you must abandon your old faith. Although all world religions (Buddhism, Islam, Christianity) preach the principles of goodness and respect, the transition to a new faith is negatively perceived by the majority of the followers of your former religion. The very procedure of "renunciation" in the form in which it is presented in many religions does not exist in Islam. You will not be forced to deny Jesus if you are a follower of Catholicism or Orthodoxy. Moreover, Islam recognizes Christ as a prophet under the name "Isa".
Rite of passage
The Qur'an is the holy book of Muslims, and according to the Qur'an, everyone who wants to recognize Allah can become Muslims. There are many mosques in Moscow and you need to visit an Islamic temple to accept religion.
One of the main mosques in the capital is the Historical Mosque. It is located at: st. Bolshaya Tatarskaya, house 28. The Great Cathedral Mosque is also known - one of the oldest in Russia (under reconstruction). All in all, there are more than 300 mosques in Moscow; you can gain faith in any Islamic temple.
Traditions, holidays
Muslims are treated with respect in Russia, in our country there are not only many mosques, but there are even regions with a predominantly Muslim religion. These are Tatarstan, Dagestan, the Chechen Republic. Every devout Muslim seeks to make a pilgrimage to the main Islamic shrine - the black stone "Kaaba" in Mecca.
There are many places in Moscow for meeting Islamic holidays. The holiday "Eid al-Adha" is of particular importance for the followers of Islam. For this holiday, you need to make a sacrifice, slaughtering a ram bought without bargaining, with honestly earned money. At one time, the holding of "Kurban-Bairam" in Moscow faced serious difficulties - the sacrifice was performed in places unsuitable for this. Today this problem has been resolved by the Council of Muftis (Islamic priest) of Russia: there are special Muslim slaughterhouses where sacrifices must be made.
Islam in everyday life
It is not easy for “new converts” to master the everyday foundations of Islam. First, it is necessary to observe the five times ablution every day. The longest fast, the month of Ramadan, is also difficult. You can eat during Ramadan only at sunrise.
Halal is a special Muslim food. The first store selling food for Muslims in Russia was the Bakhetle supermarket in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Recently "Bakhetle" has opened in Moscow as well.
