Caterina Caselli was born on April 10, 1946. in the small town of Sassuolo in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. From a young age, Katerina was fond of not only vocals, but also playing the guitar. Thanks to her youthful spontaneity, hard work beyond her years and passion for music, at the age of 14, Katerina entered the Gli Amici group not only as a vocalist, but also as a bass player.

At the age of 18, Caterina Caselli decided to participate in the Voci Nuovi festival. And even though she only entered the semifinals, many producers looking for talented musicians became interested in her. Almost immediately after the festival, she signed her first full contract with a record company to record the singles "Sciocca / Ti telephone tutte le sere" and "Mi sento stupida".

Unfortunately, the songs were a fiasco from a commercial point of view. Katerina decided on a radical change of her image - she cuts her hair under a "short bob". Subsequently, an unusual and daring haircut for those times will become her hallmark. During the same period, she changed the record company and released the single "Sono que con voi". All these innovations made Katerina recognizable. She applied to participate in the Sanremo and Festivalbar festivals in 1966, agreeing to perform the song "Nessuno mi puo giudicare", which Adriano Celentano flatly refused. The next day, Katerina woke up famous. Caselli recorded a disc, which became a hit song at festivals, and it sold millions of copies. Katerina takes part in the filming of the films Perdono and Nessuno mi puo giudicare.

In addition, in the same year she performed a cover version of David McWuilliams' song “The days of Pearly Spencer” titled “Il Volto Della Vita”. The song has been at the top of the music charts for a long time. After a successful cover version of the song, Caselli agreed to record an album with the American band We Five. The album was titled "Caterina meets the We Five". In fact, it was a track recorded separately by an American group and separately by Caterina Caselli.

In 1967, Katerina again took part in the Festivalbar, but already paired with Sonny & Cher and starred in more than five films.

In subsequent years, she took part in festivals several more times, and was also a sought-after actress.

Among other things, Caterina Caselli headed the Milanese music label "Sugar Music" and took on the production of new talented artists. So, in 1992, Andrea Bocelli opened the whole world. And in 1993 she signed a contract with Eliza Toffoli, who was 16 years old.
