Stanislav Grigorievich Popov is known to fans of ballroom dancing, since since the seventies of the twentieth century he performed as a dancer together with his wife Lyudmila in numerous contests and competitions.
Currently, the Soviet artist works as the president of the dance union of the Russian Federation and is vice president of the World Dance Council, which translates as the World Dance Council. Biography
The family in which the wonderful choreographer was born was a native of Moscow. Father's name was Grigory Petrovich, and mother's name was Sofya Vladislavovna. She gave her husband a son Stanislav in 1947, on the 4th of August.
The talented child received a wonderful education, as the parents chose for Stanislav the experimental school №315, which was nurtured by the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.
Just like his older brother Victor, Stanislav Grigorievich was fond of sports in childhood. Physical activity was easy for him. Stanislav Popov was a master of sports in pentathlon and won prizes in triathlon competitions. The future dancer got into ballroom dancing in 1962. It was a ballroom dance school in Sokolniki.
The beauty Lyudmila Borodina became a partner not only in the dance art, but also in life as a wife to Stanislav Popov. Their duet took place in the fall of 1968. The young husband and wife registered their marriage in 1974. The first years of joint performances and creativity, the dancers were amateurs, and began to practice ballroom dancing professionally in 1981.
Stanislav Popov chose a purely technical specialty for himself, studying at the Energy Institute of Moscow. It was called industrial electronics. However, the love of art prevailed over the chosen technical nature of the career. The dancer entered a higher educational institution again, choosing for himself the ballet master department of the famous GITIS. Stanislav Popov defended his diploma in 1985.
Career and creativity
The performances of the ballroom couple were distinguished by a special artistry and elegance. Stanislav and Lyudmila Popovs were the ideal and the subject of imitation for many years, until they finished their sports careers and switched to teaching work.
They organized a dance studio at the Gorky House of Culture, trained the Soviet Union's national ballroom dance team, and trained professionals for international performances.
The Popovs are recognized all over the world as one of the best coaching duos. They were invited to work in America and the couple left for the United States in 1991.
Personal life
In the two thousandth, Stanislav and Lyudmila Popov separated and the choreographer returned to his homeland. Lyudmila chose America for her life.
From his first marriage, Stanislav Popov has a daughter, Ksenia, who lives with her mother in the United States of America. Now the choreographer has a second successful marriage. His wife's name is Irina Ostroumova. In 1997, the happy spouses had a son, Nikita.
