Oliver Wood is a character in the Harry Potter world from the famous movie "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". The role of Oliver Wood brought fame to British actor Sean Biggerstaff, who only guessed how famous the film would become, but did not expect international fame and popularity at all.
In 2018, the world of potter fans celebrated 17 years since the premiere of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the adaptation of the first book about the adventures of a young wizard and his friends. Fans of the film about the young wizard Harry Potter remember all the students of Hogwarts very well. One of them is Oliver Wood.
Oliver Wood - character
Oliver Wood is a full-blooded or half-blooded wizard, a student of Gryffindor, four years older than Potter, the captain and goalkeeper of the Quidditch team of his house. In June 1994, after graduating from Hogwarts, continuing his sports career, he was enrolled in the Paddlemere United Quidditch team. Although Oliver did not find Dumbledore's Squad at Hogwarts and most likely was not a member of it, he participated in the final battle for Hogwarts on the side of Harry Potter. After the end of the second magical war, he continued his sports career.
Hero's appearance
Wood is a pretty handsome guy, not to say that he has an aristocratic appearance, but purely English. He does not like to comb his hair and therefore his hair is almost always shaggy. Wood dresses strictly in uniform, but in the summer he doesn't mind wearing Muggle clothes, because he lives near London, and there most of them are Muggles. He has an athletic figure, this is from frequent training, even after leaving Paldmore United, he did not quit practicing, because Quidditch is everything to him. No one will even remember if he ever had a girlfriend, some even joked that he even sleeps with a broom.
Character of the hero
The person is contrasting and temperamental, energetic and lively, attractive and tough. Yet at first glance, this person has everything that is needed for happiness: strength, energy, charisma. Cunning and witty, but at the same time a moderately brave man. He is capable of selfless acts. Impudent, vain, proud, values his freedom and independence very much. At the same time, he is romantic. If he has a girlfriend, he always tries to surround her with care, affection and warmth, does everything that a real man should do. A monogamous person, if he meets his love, he will never miss it. After leaving school, he became more serious.
Biography of the actor who played Oliver Wood
Childhood
Sean Biggerstaff was born on March 15, 1983 in Glasgow (Scotland) in the family of a firefighter and a teacher. He spent his childhood in the province of Maryhill near Glasgow. The first seven years of his life were pretty uninteresting, except for his passion for the music of Michael Jackson. At the age of 10, he wanted to be an actor, so he joined a local drama troupe in Maryhill (the Glasgow area where Sean lives). There he played in the play "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". His first professional role was as Macduff's son in Macbeth, directed in Glasgow by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Then he joined the Shotlad Youth Theater, where he worked for 7 years. Despite his busy schedule, Sean was able to graduate from high school.
Youth
At the age of 15, simultaneously with playing in the theater, Sean and his friends formed a group called "Сrambo". He played bass guitar and sang in this group until November 1999. In 1996, Biggerstaff landed a role in the television series Crow's Road. And the next year, 1997, Alan Rickman, who was then filming the film "The Winter Guest", found Sean at the Scottish Youth Theater. He needed two boys for filming. He selected Sean Biggerstaff, who was then playing Macbeth at the Scottish Youth Theater, and Douglas Murphy. In the film, Sean played the role of school bully Tom. In 1998, Sean appeared on the children's television show "Bright Sparks". In 1999, Sean asked Alan if he knew anyone in London who could be his agent and introduce him to Paul Lion-Maurice, his own agent from ICM. A week later, Sean successfully auditioned for Harry Potter. When the young man came to audition, he was not yet familiar with the Harry Potter books. He met with the casting director, then with Christopher Columbus, and a few days later the fateful phone call rang out. He got the role. All the Harry Potter books were immediately read. And Sean became a huge fan of these books. Filming "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" lasted from 2000 to 2001. The film hit theaters in November and immediately made a huge splash. It soon became apparent that Sean's charm was literally breaking the hearts of girls! After this success, Sean took part in the filming of the second film about Harry - "Chamber of Secrets".
