Biography
Vyacheslav Semyonov was born immediately after the Great Patriotic War, in the spring of 1946, into a family of Bryansk musicians. The family then lived in the city of Trubchevsk, and from childhood they instilled in their son a love of creativity and music. From an early age, the boy began to play the button accordion, like his father, becoming a talented performer with an impeccable ear.
At the age of 14, in 1960, Vyacheslav entered the art school of the city of Rostov, where the famous pianist and composer Anna Nikolaevna Krakhotkina became his mentor. At that time, the versatile Vyacheslav was seriously interested in football and wrestling, and he had to choose between sports and musical education.
Four years later, the talented guy was sent to study in the capital, where he was admitted to the famous "Gnesinka". And soon, since 1968, as a student at the Moscow Institute, Vyacheslav began to teach at the Rostov State Conservatory.
Career
In his student years, Vyacheslav was sent to all kinds of international competitions. In 1967 he became a laureate of a music competition in the GDR, held in the city of Klingenthal, the next year he received a bronze medal at a youth festival in the capital of Bulgaria.
Since 1973, after completing his military service, Semenov began performing on stage in orchestras and in a duet with the balalaika player Danilov. The duet took first places at the All-Union Competition and at the International Festival in Berlin, having received the Lenin Komsomol Prize. At the same time, Semyonov collaborated with the world-famous Don Cossack Ensemble, also receiving many prestigious awards and prizes.
The 80s can be considered the peak of the famous musician's career. The International Confederation of Accordionists elected him as its Vice President in 1982. It happened in Hamburg. The following year, Vyacheslav received the title of professor at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. He has toured all over the world, including many countries in America and Africa.
In the nineties, the accordionist conducted many author's programs, where he played his own compositions, took part in the jury of many international music competitions. Currently, Semyonov is a famous teacher, conducts master classes, conducts his own training program. Among its graduates there are many famous names of the international classical music school.
Personal life
Vyacheslav's wife is also a creative person, she plays the dombra and often performs on stage in a duet with her famous husband. They toured together in America, China and Europe. They found each other at Gnesinka, where Natalya also works as a teacher, and got married in the late 1980s.
