Petrenko Sergey Anatolyevich is a famous Soviet footballer who played as a midfielder. Since the mid-eighties, he has been engaged in coaching.
Biography
The future athlete was born in July 1955 on the seventh in the city of Moscow. Sergei's parents worked at the plant. Hereditary workers, they did not even think that their son would one day become a professional, highly paid athlete.
And from an early age Seryozha dreamed of becoming a football player and someday playing for the great and invincible national team of the Soviet Union. In the mid-fifties, football schools for young people began to appear throughout the country, one of which was in Moscow. Parents took their son to this school, and this was the beginning of Petrenko's long career in football.
Professional career
Sergey first appeared in FSM at the age of ten. The talented youth was able to impress the school management and attracted the attention of several club coaches. Regularly speaking for the Moscow branch of the school, Petrenko was rapidly increasing his results and his own value, and by the age of 17 he became the target of several Moscow grandees. Having made his choice, Petrenko moved to Torpedo.
The entire playing career of an outstanding athlete took place in one club, few footballers can boast of such an achievement. For thirteen long years, he appeared on the field 276 times in the colors of "Torpedo" and became one of the team's record holders. He scored twenty-three goals and became the champion of the USSR.
Coaching work
Petrenko ended his playing career unusually early, at the age of only thirty. Then he decided to take up coaching. There were no problems with the place of work, almost immediately he received an offer from the DShM in which he once began to play football. Sergei Anatolyevich trained very young boys during the period of perestroika and until the collapse of the Soviet Union.
In 1992 he was invited to work at Torpedo, where he worked until 2006. During this time, he left his post several times, he was appointed to work in farm clubs, but one way or another he was in the system of the Torpedo football club. In 2006, he went to Latvia, where he worked for only a year and returned to Russia. He spent two years in Nizhny Novgorod, where he worked with the local team of the third division Volga. In 2011, he spent part of the season in Kazakhstan's Tobol.
The last place of work of Petrenko was the Siberian football club "Yenisei" in which he also spent one season from 2013 to 2014.
Personal life
The famous sportsman is married. His wife's name is Elena Alexandrovna. In 1993, they had a son named Anton. In 2001, their second son was born, named Andrei. Despite the fact that Petrenko completed his professional career, he did not go far from sports. He loves tennis and regularly plays at an amateur level in his spare time.
