Biography
Vasily Eduardovich Petrenko was born on July 7, 1976, in Leningrad. The parents of the future conductor loved music, but did not do it professionally. The child developed rapidly. At 2 years old I could already read. At 4 - count. Since childhood, he was drawn to music, so no one was surprised by the choice of Vasily, who entered the Glinka Choral School, as well as the Leningrad Conservatory.
The teachers immediately noted the great potential of the young man. Vasily did not disappoint his mentors - he showed a serious attitude to work, there were no impossible tasks for him.
Petrenko initially strove to get the best education, for this he studied additionally.
Career
In 2002 Vasily Petrenko was awarded the Grand Prix of the International Competition of Conductors "Cadaques". Then the leading musicians of Barcelona applauded him.
In 2004, the musician became the director of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg.
In the fall of the same year, he conducted the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. After 10 months, Petrenko headed it. It was the heyday of the orchestra, a second wind opened up for the Liverpool art.
