Biography
The future actor was born in the early 1920s in a small town on the outskirts of France. Jean's father was engaged in the sale of horses. While studying at the Lyceum, the teenager was very much interested in artistic activities. But Jean's parents believed that their child should become a notary.
The first time after graduation, Richard was engaged in sketching cartoons for a local newspaper. Then he made an attempt to enter one of the most expensive and famous educational institutions, which taught horse riding. He could not become a student of this school and left for the city of Lyon, where he found his place as an actor, whose role was to show a naive young man with a pretty appearance. Soon, having teamed up with friends, he opened his own theater.
Career
At the age of 25, Jean, having graduated from a higher educational institution with a degree in dramatic art, began his circus and acting career. 5 years later he became famous for the first time, he got a role in the French film "Beautiful Mentality".
Due to his addiction to animals, in 1955 he founded his first zoo in a village in the north of France. Then, 8 years later, in the same settlement, he opened an amusement park, which was the first in the history of a European state.
1957 for the eminent actor was marked by the fact that he managed to open another business, this time he founded his own circus, which he named after himself. Then he bought another circus establishment, which he later passed on to his son.
For sufficient financing of such costly enterprises, Jean Richard began to actively develop the cinematographic direction, for several years he played in dozens of films and theatrical performances of various quality.
One of the longest and most profitable projects for the actor was the famous French television series, in which he played the role of a police officer. In total, about nine dozen episodes were filmed, this cinematic project existed for 20 years.
Personal life
In the mid-40s of the last century, immediately after the end of the Second World War, Jean found a life partner named Anne-Marie Lejart. A daughter, Elizabeth, appeared in the marriage, six years later the actor's first union was destroyed.
The next wife of Richard was the famous French cinematographer Annick Tanguy. They had a son named Jean-Pierre, who later supported his father's creative direction and helped him with work in the circus. The second and last wife of the circus figure died in the late 90s of the last century, and Richard passed away in 2001.
