Victor Gusev is a Russian poet, translator, screenwriter and playwright. For the scripts for the films "Pig and Shepherd" and "At six o'clock in the evening after the war" he was awarded three Stalin Prizes. He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor.
Viktor Mikhailovich Gusev was born in Moscow in 1909. The famous domestic sports commentator and journalist is his own grandson. Gusev was also engaged in drama and translation.
On the road to calling
In 1925, the future poet became a member of the drama studio at the capital's theater of the revolution. After studying there for a year, Victor went to the higher literary courses of Bryusov. After training, another year passed, and the first publications of poetry appeared.
Gusev became a member of the society of dramatic writers of the capital. A couple of years later, his first poetry book was published. The young author spent three years on the courses, then transferred to the Faculty of Art and Literature of Moscow State University.
An active and sociable poet, he quickly made new acquaintances. He developed and promoted his writing talents. He started to create scripts for feature films, wrote ditties, lyrics for songs, reprise, articles. From the end of the twenties, comedies created by Gusev began to appear.
Viktor Mikhailovich perfectly felt the time, needs, therefore, his work has always been distinguished by freshness and demand. He became one of the most popular songwriters, screenwriters and playwrights. She became widely known in 1934 after the song "Polyushko-field" was created. After a successful debut, all works were successful. In 1935 she wrote the play "Glory".
It has been staged in all theaters. There were a lot of worthy works after her. The main role of the author was script and direction. In 1941 Gusev took over as head of the literary department of the radio committee. He started writing reports and scripts for radio broadcasts.
In 1939 the poet received the Order of the Badge of Honor. In 1942 he was awarded the Stalin Prize for the script of the famous painting "The Pig and the Shepherd". The film tells the story of a Soviet girl Glasha Novikova.
She lives in a Russian village. However, the drummer fell in love not with the potential groom and active boyfriend Kuzma, "the first in the village", but the shepherd from distant Dagestan Musaib Gatuev. Family and creativity
Both before the war and during it Gusev remained the only scriptwriter whose heroes spoke in poetry. His films were highly sought after. The poet's wife was Nina Stepanova, a teacher. In 1934, at the end of May, a child was added to the family. The boy was named Mikhail. Soon he had a sister, Elena. During the war, the spouse, son and daughter were evacuated to Tashkent. They returned already after the departure of Gusev from life.
Nina Petrovna over time has adjusted her personal life again. She became the wife of the famous writer Konstantin Finn. Mikhail Viktorovich became a student of the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science of Moscow State University. He grew up to be a world-renowned biologist. He became a dean, a professor at his native university.
He married Galina Boldyreva. In 1955 they had a son, Victor. The family had a tradition of alternating the names Mikhail and Victor. Therefore, the grandson became the full namesake of the famous grandfather. Viktor Gusev, who became a popular sports commentator, gave his son the name Mikhail.
In his works, the poet showed himself to be a real patriot. He glorified the country. He was delighted with technical progress. Its scale was especially striking among pilots and polar explorers. Once the playwright was told the story that the pilot had to raise the helicopter to an unprecedented height in order to save a sick girl from a mountain village.
The author was so imbued with this story that the next day his poem appeared. The poetic story was published in the newspaper.
Bright works
Due to congenital health problems, Gusev was not taken to the army. However, his personal experiences turned out to be so vivid that readers were sure that the poet had fought. The poet often visited military units.
He became the author of the famous "March of the Artillerymen". The song was first performed in the movie "At 6 pm after the war". Immediately they caught her.
The poet took part in a competition to create versions of the national anthem. His version, in collaboration with Khrennikov, was noted for sincerity and expressiveness with monumentality.
In 1942, in a very difficult time, a song about Vasya Kryuchkin and Marusya was born in collaboration with Solovyov-Sedym. It was sung all over the country. Enemies were met with her in Stalingrad. The composition is not forgotten even now.
The playwright and screenwriter died in 1944, on January 21. His grandson lives in the capital on the street named after his famous ancestor.
Gusev's Polyushko-Pole has turned into a folk song. However, the name of the poet-creator began to gradually fade from memory. In 1959, the last collection of his works was published. The paddle steamer named after him quickly turned into the Kristall floating recreation complex.
The fate of the author's creations was more successful. The author's name has not disappeared from his masterpiece "On the free, on the blue, on the Quiet Don". The poet was very fond of the Don theme. The song was repeatedly performed by Lyudmila Zykina.
