The beginning of the way

The future TV journalist was born in the fall of 1978 in the large port city of Vladivostok. Combining his studies at school, he began to cooperate with the local radio and at the age of thirteen he became the host of the "Sacvoyage" program. Even then, the teenager decided on the choice of his future profession and firmly decided to become a journalist.

Journalist career

After leaving school, the young man continued his education at the Far Eastern University. While still a student, he worked on the Primorsky channels "Public Television of Primorye" and "Vladivostok". After receiving his diploma, he continued his career as a correspondent for the Vesti program in Vladivostok, but wanting to achieve more, he moved to Moscow.

Since 2003, he was in the capital of Ukraine at the office of the TV channel "Russia". In Ukraine, he often had to work in rather difficult conditions. During the Orange Revolution, Popov traveled to the hot spots of the Kiev Maidan to organize live reports.

Yevgeny's first overseas business trip was the North Korean city of Pyongyang. In 2005, the journalist returned to the Russian capital and prepared political reviews for the Vesti Nedeli project. This continued until another trip abroad, now to the United States. In New York, the correspondent became the head of the Vesti bureau and introduced his compatriots to the life of Americans. After that, Popov's career began to gain momentum.

In 2013, Eugene appeared on the channel as the author of the program "Vesti at 23:00". Periodically replaced his colleague Dmitry Kiselev in the main issues of Vesti. In the fall of 2016, the first airing of the talk show "60 Minutes" took place, the correspondent created it in a duet with Olga Skabeeva. The program discusses problematic issues that concern compatriots. Well-known politicians and public figures, experts, foreigners are invited to the studio. Nastya was a colleague of Popov and reported to the Russians about life in the United States. Soon the young people started a family, but the marriage was not strong, and after the divorce, Popov again found himself in Moscow. He was alone for a long time and worked hard on his own career.

After a while, Eugene met his "soul mate". She turned out to be TV presenter Olga Skabeeva, who became Popov's wife. Soon the couple had their firstborn son Zakhar. Only relatives know about the personal life of TV presenters, they try not to bring family issues to the public.
