Biography
Dmitry Malyshko was born on March 19, 1987 in the town of Sosnovy Bor, Leningrad Region. Until the age of 8, Dmitry did not attend any sports sections, like most children, spent time in the yard, played football, basketball and rode a bicycle. He began to study biathlon from the second grade of the school. His first coach was Yuri Vasilievich Parfenov. Under his leadership, Dmitry trained flesh until the completion of his junior age in 2008. Today Malyshko trains under the guidance of personal trainer D. A. Kucherov.
Dmitry graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics with a degree in organization management. In 2008, Dmitry retired from sports, as due to the crisis, athletes were forced to purchase equipment and equipment for themselves. For a year Dmitry worked in his specialty in one of the banks of St. Petersburg. From physical training, Dmitry had only running, and even then to keep fit. Anatoly Alyabyev returned Malyshko to sports life, who assured him that the federation would find funds to provide material assistance and resolve issues with the purchase of equipment and equipment. For Dima, it was not so much the financial side of the issue that was important as the interest of famous coaches in it.
Sports career
Dmitry made his debut at the World Junior Championships in 2005. Then he ran three personal races, in which he finished in the top ten twice.
Dmitry entered the junior national team of Russia in the 2007/2008 season. Then he spent five races and won the second place in the sprint at the stage in Sweden.
After such a debut, Dmitry left the sport for a year and returned to international starts only in the 2009/2010 season for adult starts. At the end of the season, together with his teammates, Dmitry brings the Russian national team a silver medal in the European Championship in relay. At the end of the season, Malyshko takes 29th place in the overall rating of biathletes.
The next season, Dmitry was transferred to the youth team due to health problems. In January 2011, he underwent heart surgery, and already in February he resumed his training, a month later he performed at the Russian Championship, where he took second place in the sprint with zero shooting. According to the decision of the coaching staff, since the summer of 2011, Dmitry has been joining the second national team of Russia, and after several prizes, he is transferred to the main team. This season, Dmitry continues to successfully collect cup points, as part of the relay team (Shipulin, Moiseev, Ustyugov, Malyshko) brings silver to Russia at the second stage of the World Cup. Dmitry Malyshko gets to his personal bronze podium in the pursuit at one of the stages. In the overall standings at the end of the season, Dmitry takes 19th place and remains in the Russian national team for the next season.
In the new season Dmitry showed his best result - the second place in the pursuit race, 0.9 seconds behind Yakov Fak. In January 2013, as part of the relay team with Anton Shipulin, Alexei Volkov, Yevgeny Garanichev, they occupy the highest step of the podium. This was followed by a series of personal victories - first place in the sprint and in the subsequent pursuit. At the sixth stage of the World Cup, Malyshko's results began to decline and more and more often he found himself outside the 10, or even 20 leaders. His work in the mixed relay can be called a failure, where he entered the penalty loop at the last stage and deprived the team of chances for medals. Later, in the classic relay at the next stage of the World Cup, Dmitry rehabilitated himself, showing perfect shooting and a good move, thanks to which Russia again took the first step of the podium.
The following season, Dmitry twice became the winner in the men's relay team and received a bronze medal in the mass start. Dmitry was preparing for the 2015/2016 season as part of Ricco Gross's group. Particularly outstanding results were not noticed at the stages of the World Cup, more and more often Malyshko finished outside the top 30.
Malyshko is considered to be a high-speed athlete. Cross-country skiing is easier for him than shooting. In terms of running speed, he is often in the top ten. He is especially good at work on the last lap of the distance, where he can seriously compete with Martin Fourcade and Emile Swensen.
Personal life
Biathlete Ekaterina Tikhonova became Dmitry's wife. The marriage of Dmitry and Catherine took place on May 14, 2015 in the castle of Peter I
On January 11, 2015, Dmitry became a father for the first time, his first child was born, a son, who was named Philip. Interestingly, Philip was born at a time when Dmitry was flying along the Oberhof track to his next bronze medal.
On September 8, 2017, the family increased by two more sons.
Hobbies and hobbies
In races, Dmitry has always been distinguished by high speeds, and in his free time, cars, rallies and Formula 1 remain his hobbies. As Dmitry says, if not for biathlon, he would have become a motorcyclist.

Dmitry maintains good relations with all members of the Russian national team, but they became close friends with Anton Shipulin.
Dmitry plans to receive a second higher legal education. He understands that his sports career will end sooner or later, life will move to another level, and his legal education will help him maintain a dignified family life.
