Biography
Grant Aramovich Tokhatyan was born in 1958 in Yerevan, in an Armenian family. His mother worked in a hospital, and his father was a race car driver, a multiple winner of a rally in the USSR.
Already at school, the future actor began to show interest in the stage, in the theater. At that time, school number 109, where he studied, was a fairly advanced educational institution with its own theater, musical ensemble and KVN team. Grant gradually participated everywhere, but KVN attracted him most of all.
These were the happy years of childhood. Until now, the guys from the team and Tokhatyan's classmates meet every year, although a lot of water has already flowed under the bridge since graduation.
Despite his artistic ability, Grant entered the physics department, and then moved to a teacher training university.
Career in cinema and theater
In 1976, Grant, as a capable young actor, was invited to the chamber theater. He liked this job so much that he served there for 15 years. Over the years, a large number of roles have been played, different characters have been created, many plays have been played. In 1989, Tokhatyan, as one of the best actors, was sent to France for a theater festival.
The "dashing nineties" came, it became difficult to earn money in the theater, and Tokhatyan and several other comrades organized the "Sharm Holding" company. They started organizing presentations, concerts, PR-actions, and also created TV projects.
In those years, the fashion for TV series came to Armenia, and Grant began acting in various projects. The series was shown mainly in Armenia, and Tokhatyan could not call himself a celebrity. Only in 2013 the comedy "The Last of the Magikyan" was released, after which his name was recognized throughout the post-Soviet space. In five seasons of the series, which were filmed until 2015, the artist played the main character - Karen Magikyan.
Another well-known picture, consisting of beautiful cinema novels, is the film "Without Borders" (2015). Grant played the main character, and he turned out to be very touching.
Quite the opposite role went to the actor in the film "Earthquake" - here he played a policeman saving people during a natural disaster.
The best films in the portfolio of Tokhatyan are considered the films "Our yard" and "Big story in a small town", and the best TV series were "Ivanovs-Ivanovs", "Hotel Eleon" and "My big Armenian wedding".
Personal life
Grant Armenovich has three children from three wives, and they are all friends. The first wife was the beautiful Arusak, who was in love with her future husband for a long time. They have a son, Aram.
The second wife is actress Irina Danielyan, they have lived together for 10 years, they have a son, Aik.
Tohatyan's third wife met him in the United States, and they soon got married. They have a daughter, Lilith.
When Aram had a son, he was named after his grandfather Grant - according to the old Armenian tradition.
