Olga Anisimova is a Russian biathlete who became famous thanks to her participation in the debut world championship, the athlete managed to win two gold and two silver medals.
Childhood
Olga Viktorovna Anisimova was born in the Saratov region, namely in the small town of Balakova. Olya was born on January 29, 1972. Her parents were not rich people, but Olga lived in abundance.
Since childhood, Olya has been a very athletic girl, this was noted by the physical education teacher and the ski coach. In Balakovo, Olga had no competitors in biathlon. At that moment, Olya and her parents decided to move to Kaliningrad, the girl was 15 years old.
Life in Leningrad
After finishing 9 classes, Olga thought about entering the Leningrad Sports School. The girl could not live without sports. Olga was able to easily fulfill the standards, despite the fact that they were very difficult. Olga trained very intensively and was invited to the national biathlon team of the Soviet Union.
First medals
In the 2089/2090 season, Olya took part in the junior world championship, she was only 17 years old. At this championship Olga was able to win 2 gold and 2 silver medals. It was a success in Anisimova's career. But the success did not last long.
Personal life
At the age of 19, Olga got married, and at 20, Olga gave birth to a son, he was named Vitaly. Olya was an excellent mother and wife. For the sake of the family, Olga had to leave biathlon, but not for long. It was very difficult to return to the big sport, Olga did not train for a very long time. Olga took part in several stages of the World Cup, but did not get into the prizes, the best result was - the ninth. At this moment, Olga realizes that she needs to change her place of residence and makes a serious decision to move to Khanty-Mansiysk.
Trip to Khanty-Mansiysk
Valery Zakharov became Olga's coach, and many Olympic champions grew up under the guidance of this coach. After a while, Olga was able to regain her previous shape and decided to try her hand at the European Cup. In parallel with biathlon, Olya studied at the Faculty of Economics. Olga got the idea to end her career.
Return to the Russian national team
Anisimova performed well at the European Cup stages and the coaches decided to invite her to the Russian national team. The 2006/2007 season has become one of the most successful seasons in the life of an athlete. Olga performed well at the World Cup stages and took 21st place in the overall standings. In the relay races, Anisimov constantly showed excellent results and therefore, she was guaranteed a permanent place in the relay races.
Completion of a sports career
The 2010/2011 season was the last for the Russian athlete. Olga understood that it was time to end her career. At 39, Olya decided to end her biathlon career. Olga made a huge contribution to Russian sport.
