Farrukh Bulsara - this is the real name of the famous Freddie Mercury - was born in Tanzania. Date of birth: September 5, 1946. When the boy was six years old, he had a sister named Kashmira, and the family moved to Bombay.

From childhood, Farrukh showed interest in creativity, he was fascinated by music. In addition, by nature he had special vocal abilities. In the end, similar features of the boy did not go unnoticed. When Farrukh studied at a boarding school in Panchgan (India), the head of the educational institution drew attention to his talents and recommended that his parents take up the musical education of their son. As a result, Bulsara began to sing in the choir and attend vocal courses, where he was considered the best student. An interesting moment in the biography: it was at the school that they initially began to call Farrukh Freddie, and he secured such a name for himself.

The first musical group by the future world famous artist was created at the age of 12. The team was called The Hectics.

A couple of years after graduating from school, Farrukh moved with his family to England. In 1965 he entered Ealing College of Art. After graduation, he received a designer diploma. In parallel with drawing, the young man actively continued to study music and vocals, and also attended a ballet class.

Creative path and career at Queen

While still in college, Freddie met people like Roger Taylor, Tim Staffel. At one time, he and Taylor even had a small shop where Freddie's drawings were sold.

In 1969, Freddie got acquainted with the work of the Ibex group and began to collaborate with them. However, the collective quickly disintegrated. At the same time, the talented young man joined Sour Milk Sea. Also, at one time, Farrukh worked with The Smile team, of which the aforementioned Tim Staffel was a member.

The formation of the musical group Queen began at the turn of the 60s and 70s. The final line-up, familiar to the eyes of fans, was formed in 1971. And already in 1972 the debut album was recorded. At the same time, Farrukh Bulsara came up with his own creative pseudonym - Freddie Mercury.

As time went on, Queen's songs made it into British chats. The team began to actively develop and tour. In 1975, Queen visited Japan, where they made a splash. The country literally fell in love with the young Mercury.

In the 1980s, the band's new discs were released. In parallel with this, Freddie Mercury tried himself as a solo artist, recording singles and an album. And in 1982 he met Montserrat Caballe. Later - in 1987 - they recorded a joint disc, and the song Barcelona became known literally all over the world.

In 1985 there was a grandiose Queen performance at Wembley Stadium. In addition to them, other popular groups and performers took part in the concert, but for the "queens" this show became one of the most ambitious for the entire existence of the collective.

A year after the concert at Queen Stadium, they embarked on their final tour. And in 1988, Freddie Mercury gave a concert with Montserrat Caballe. This show was the last live performance for the singer and musician.

Personal life surrounded by rumors

Information about the personal life of Freddie Mercury is very ambiguous. She is surrounded by numerous conversations and rumors. We can only say with confidence that the singer has never been married, he had no children. And Freddie called a woman named Mary Austin as true love and close tender friend. She was once the musician's personal secretary and was with him until his death.

Sickness and death

Suspicions that the Queen frontman was seriously ill began to appear in 1986. However, neither Freddie himself, nor members of the group or close people, friends gave any concrete confirmation.

Despite the deteriorating condition, Mercury continued to engage in creativity, plunged headlong into singing and music. He managed to record two more discs, which were released in 1989 and 1991. Videos were even filmed for some songs, but the last videos in support of the final album in Freddie's career were black and white. And they clearly show how the musician's health has deteriorated.

The official announcement that the Queen frontman is sick with AIDS was made only on November 23, 1991. On November 24 of the same year, the musician died, the cause of death was bronchopneumonia.

Mercury's body was cremated. He is buried in London, at the Kensal Green cemetery.
