Biography

Evgeny Yuryevich Arkhipov was born in 1965 in Leningrad, in an ordinary Soviet family. He studied in high school, was actively involved in sports. The northern capital provides great opportunities for rowing - it was he who captivated Zhenya since his school years. He had excellent data, a desire to succeed, and soon became a candidate for master of sports in rowing and canoeing.

Almost immediately after leaving school, Yevgeny went to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR and served there the prescribed two years. And after the army he entered the Leningrad State University, the law faculty, the correspondence department. At that time, he was already an employee of the Pulkovo customs and worked there until 1992.

He did not forget sports, although he did not become a professional - sometimes he trained and tried to keep in touch with his comrades. He is friends with one of them to this day - this is the former President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev.

Entrepreneur career

The nineties gave great opportunities to people who were open to new things. During this period, the sporting character of Arkhipov manifested itself: he was not afraid of difficulties and began to engage in individual entrepreneurship. His first idea was well embodied: he ordered painted souvenirs in the famous Palekh and delivered them to souvenir shops. So he worked for three years, and then radically changed the field of activity.

In 1991, Evgeny Yurievich went on business to New York and saw street eateries there: fast food carts that provided a good snack for the city dwellers running by. Arkhipov thought it would be nice to make the same food outlets in Russia. Upon arrival from America, he bought one such cart and began an experiment in organizing a "fast food" in St. Petersburg. The townspeople loved this idea of being able to eat on the go, and the trolley business began to grow rapidly. Currently, Arkhipov has twenty such points in the city.

Of course, being the first is always difficult. First, the equipment for such a business is not cheap: one cart is comparable in price to the price of an apartment in St. Petersburg. Plus, people have different tastes, and they had to develop some kind of average menu that would suit most of the city's residents. However, everything worked out, and the business developed further.

Carts with "fast food" began to appear at various holidays, at city mass events and gave a good profit.

The next stage in the development of this business was the opening of fast food restaurants in St. Petersburg. Arkhipov founded the City Grill Express brand and opened the first restaurant with various fast food under this guise. However, this idea did not find understanding among the Petersburgers - they did not want to eat hot dogs in the restaurant. I had to look again for the basic concept, and it was later implemented in a more sophisticated menu, which is based on steaks and burgers.

This idea has borne fruit, and now in St. Petersburg there are already three such restaurants, and one is quite large - it has more than a hundred seats.

At the same time, Arkhipov was not only engaged in business - he held fairly high positions in various organizations. For three years, starting in 2002, Evgeny Yurievich was the deputy head of Baltnefteprovod LLC, and then moved to Avtotransportnye tekhnologii LLC, also as a deputy. Currently, he is vice president of Northern Expedition LLC, as well as vice president of the All-Russian Federation of Kayaking and Canoeing.

He was nominated for this position by the Collegium of the Rowing Federation of St. Petersburg as a former athlete. Arkhipov doubted for a long time, because such a position requires a lot of effort, time, and sometimes the cost of personal funds. In one interview, he said that funding for sports from the budget does not cover all costs by far, and many coaches work according to the principle "not thanks, but in spite of." Such federations are generally poorly funded - basically all the money goes to national teams, and the rest of the problems are solved by rowing enthusiasts. The entrepreneur himself has been involved in this sport for six years and knows all the background from the inside. However, then Arkhipov agreed to take part in the work of the federation and made a great contribution to the development of rowing. So, the pre-Olympic season that year ended with an excellent result: eight Olympic licenses received by Russian athletes. Therefore, rowers pin great hopes on the fact that a man like Arkhipov, with his active participation, will help them to provide everything they need for training and travel to competitions.

Personal life

The entrepreneur met his future wife Irina Chashchina at an international rowing competition that took place in Moscow. The gymnast was there as a guest, and Eugene immediately drew attention to her.

However, Irina did not immediately agree to become his wife - Arkhipov had to propose to her three times. In the end, Irina agreed, and they got married in 2011 on a beautiful yacht that cruised the Moskva River. The wedding was attended by Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev with his wife and other celebrities and media figures.
