The wife is a co-founder of CJSC Investtatneft. The company, through OOO Neftetransstroy, controls a 16% stake in Mezhprombank. The husband strongly supports his wife in her professional field. One of the sons became the owner of the France Soir newspaper in 2009. Its advertising has been invested 20 million euros. A little later, the newspaper was declared bankrupt.

Pugachev became a member of the Russian delegation to Washington to negotiate support for Russia by the International Monetary Fund after the default.

Loud lawsuits

In 2013, a criminal case was initiated against an entrepreneur in Russia. A claim was filed to bring a French citizen to subsidiary liability to the Moscow Arbitration Court. Then the Investigative Committee puts the businessman on the wanted list in the Mezhprobmanka case.

It was assumed that deliberate bankruptcy was provoked. Employees destroyed not only the database, but also its backup copy. The damage from this could exceed 60 billion rubles, and the bankruptcy itself was associated with the issuance of doubtful loans to structures affiliated with the bank.

In 2014, Russian representatives applied to the High Court of London with a request for interim measures in support of a civil subsidiary claim. On July 11 of the same year, the judge ruled to freeze assets in England. It also contained coercion to disclose all assets belonging to Pugachev in all countries. In March 2015a ban was imposed on leaving England. Two months later, the police found explosive devices under the entrepreneur's personal cars. Therefore, the family was granted state protection. Sergei Pugachev has been repeatedly assassinated both in Russia and abroad.

In 2015, Pugachev filed a $ 12 billion lawsuit against Russia in the arbitration court in The Hague. In December of the same year, the High Court of Justice of England and Wales issued an arrest warrant for Pugachev on contempt of court. A two-year prison sentence was issued. Analysts have estimated the new asset at $ 700 million. After modernization and thanks to joint work with IMG, the largest surface shipbuilding center in Europe was created. After a while, all shipbuilding assets were expropriated by the state without compensation.
