The future actress was born in the spring of 1971 in New York, in the South Bronx. Adina is a first generation American. Her father was born in Africa, in Sierra Leone, and her mother was in Bermuda.
In childhood, the girl began to show acting talent and constantly entertained the family with mini-performances, portraying various characters in children's books and films.
Her parents noticed her artistry and decided to send her to study in an acting class in Harlem at St. Mark's Church. There she met the famous actress Butterfly McQueen, who led the preparation of the festive programs at the church. Adina received her first acting lesson from McQueen.
During his school years, teachers advised Porter to audition for the High School of Performing Arts. The girl obeyed the advice and, having passed the selection, was accepted for training in 1982.
Then Adina continued her education at the SUNY Purchase school, where she studied acting. In the months leading up to graduation, students put on demonstrations for casting agents. The girl was noticed, and from that moment her creative career began in the theater, and then in film and television.

Porter made her stage debut. She has played in regional theater as well as several off-Broadway theaters. She was fortunate enough to collaborate with many famous directors, including: J. S. Wolfe, Macr Wing-Davie, Richard Foreman, Don Scardino, Michael Grief, Rhys Bramont Garcia. She also performed at the Manhattan Theater Club and appeared in several plays at the Shakespeare Festival.
The actress won the Off-Broadway Theater Awards for her performance in the play "Venus" by Susan-Laurie Parks.
Porter came to the cinema in 1991. She got a minor role in the crime drama "Fainting", which tells about the notorious murder committed by Nathan Freudenthal Leopold and Richard Albert Loeb in 1924.
The actress played her next small role in the short film "Jeffrey Bean 30".
After that, Adina began acting in numerous television projects that brought her fame and popularity. Personal life
The actress got married twice. The first husband was David Raymond Hecht. They got married in 1992, but only lived together for a few years.
The second chosen one was Larry Earl Madison Jr. He passed away in 2013 from a heart attack.
Porter brings up 2 adopted children, whom they took into the family with their second husband. The boy's name is Jack Porter, and the girl's name is Jordan. Adina has no children of her own.
