Childhood

Art historians and critics called Lyudmila Gurchenko a synthetic actress. She brilliantly reincarnated in all theatrical genres from vaudeville and musical to melodrama and tragicomedy. The future star of Soviet cinema was born on November 12, 1935 in a family of music workers. Parents at that time lived in the famous city of Kharkov. His father worked at the local philharmonic as an accordion player, and his mother acted as a singer. The girl grew up as an inquisitive and active child, from an early age absorbed the creative atmosphere that surrounded her.

In 1941, when the war began, his father was drafted into the active army, while Lyudmila and her mother remained in the occupied city. We managed to survive with great difficulty. After the end of the war, Gurchenko continued her studies in high school. She studied well. She actively participated in amateur art shows and attended classes at the drama studio, which operated at the pioneers' house. Having received a certificate of maturity, Lyudmila decided to enter the acting department of VGIK and left for Moscow. The applicant from Kharkov passed the entrance exams the first time.

Creative way

Already in her student years, Gurchenko declared herself as an actress and singer. In the graduation performance "Keto and Kote" she played one of the main roles and sang songs according to the script. The first success came to the actress in 1956, after the release of the cult comedy "Carnival Night". The actress was organically perceived in the image of a charming singer, and the song "Five Minutes" is still considered a hit among the Russian audience. Then the audience saw their favorite actress in the films "The Road of Truth" and "Girl with a Guitar". The songs from these films were released on separate discs.

It should be noted that the peculiar manner of being on stage and on the set, independent judgments on acute topical issues caused the discontent of officials from culture. For some time, Lyudmila Markovna was not invited to participate in films. And then she performed songs of Soviet composers. For the thirtieth anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Gurchenko recorded a medley on the theme of war songs. Until now, none of the pop performers has created such a performance.

Recognition and privacy

Since the mid-70s, the actress was regularly invited to starring roles in the cinema. Among the famous films are "Twenty Days Without War", "Sibiriada", "Five Evenings". In 1983, Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of the Soviet Union".

The personal life of the actress was stormy. She was officially married several times. In the end, Lyudmila Gurchenko met Sergei Senin, a film producer. She has lived with this man under the same roof for the last eight years. The actress passed away after a serious short illness in March 2011.
